Wiped cam lobe mechanical fuel pump

Definitely drain by plug and flush with kero or diesel. Would put some oil crank it to push remaining crap into filter and cut open filters until it is clean. I used to jack up the front of my tailer and drop the oil in the bilge and out the drain plug makes a mess but you need to flush the...

depends on what u want to use it for. A couple of thoughts of course depends on price of boat and what u want to get into. if you just want a cruiser and inexpensive way to get on the water, may work just fine as is or swap a lower pitch prop for when you are more loaded down. if you like...

the small power plant may be why it has sat or because the seller is full of himself. Basically all you care is was it taken care of. If it was and especially if seller is still in boating it probably was cared for. There is no hose to an airbox like on a car. Flame arrestor is on top of...

Wiped cam lobe mechanical fuel pump

In addition to the wiring of the electric fuel pump, I would think you have a lot of metal in the engine from the cam lobe that needs to be cleaned out

what size boat is it. May be underpowered with a 5.0 . Would inspect the B3 for corrosion. Some of the early B3 s had a lot of corrosion that was rectified with additional zincs on later ones.

    saltwater 5.0 weak points

I noticed when I did my repower a few years back right about the time GM discontinued the 5.0 that a lot of marine suppliers the 5.0 was more than a 5.7 . I guess if you needed a 5.0 instead of converting to a 5.7 and reflashjng ecm or tuning a carb they were going to tweak you cost wise Now...

Changing outdrive on my inline 6 165 HP.

I think rake is more related to bow lift. Big bladed props with a lot of cup like enertia , Revolution 4 will have a lot of grip on the water and lower slip. This effectively acts like adding pitch because the engine won’t turn a lot of rpms. So if you ran the same pitch black max aluminum entry...

Changing outdrive on my inline 6 165 HP.

If u can find a prop 4” less pitch that would raise rpms about 800. Lugging an engine due to wrong ratio or prop can lead to detonation and ruin the engine

    saltwater 5.0 weak points

Yes need a reflash for either 5.7 or 6.2 displacement yes the 5.0 heads may have different chamber volume to keep compression at 9.4 don’t recall exact diffs but while folks have bolted them up to 5.7 s I think performance is Down

SEI preload and a stern jack

Was worried you might hit a wall where setback box didnt fit newer style input shaft bearings... I think SEI ships complete drives split so they are under UPS ground weight limit which I think is like 70 lbs or similar. Looks like they shorted you a few things. Its been a while since I had an...

What reason causes the water leaking into gimbal bearing house?

No, while there is a drain so that water can drain from bellows there should be NO water in bellows it will ruin the gimbal bearing, u joints and input shaft seal on drive
