    IF????? the side cover isn't leaking???? then DON'T remove it. Resealing that cover can be a nightmare.

    IF??? the ball stays soft: the primer is bad, the fuel pump is bad, the float might be stuck or the squeezie is bad, bad connection somewhere? Stalling? low rpms, or there's an exhaust leak? try running with the cover off?

    The motor runs great (mostely) , new impeller, thermo's,plugs,etc Running for about 1 mi. and then alarm sounds off and goes into limp mode(?) Back to idle and then it can be ran up again. Not overheating(tested) pretty sure the oil system is the problem. Cleaned both tanks and got the sludge...

    Surface gap plugs: Just wipe em off. I've had plugs last YEARS!!! 7-8 maybe longer? Then I only changed them out of guilt.

    SAFETY !!! test the shift at the motor, unhook the connector for the shift at the motor, maybe remove the prop, start the motor, then shift by hand, SAFETY stay away from the prop. Shift into gear quickly, sloowly will make it grind. IF? it still grinds? then the linkage needs adjusting...
