Volvo Penta 5.7 OSI-C not staying running

With a carb'd motor, turning the key on should't turn the pump on. Did you actually hear it go on? What I would do is pull the fuel pump relay and jumper it to start the fuel pump and then try starting the engine. The fuel pump only runs while cranking or while the alternator is outputting...

    Whats the best hydrofoil

I had a Doel Fin on an I/O once. It would cause me to almost spin out in a high speed turn and reduced my speed by a couple MPH. I took it off and would never put another fin on a boat.

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

Not sure what you are talking about. I am talking about Mercedes built for the entire US. My friend purchased his in Arizona. He was stranded because of an electrical issue with a sensor in his emission system that sent him into limp mode.

    DPS-b drive lifts in reverse

He has a DPS-B drive. No idea what part you are showing. Possibly a 270 drive from 40 years earlier. http://www.volvopentastore.com/Transmissions/dm/cart_id.492644847--session_id.234054670--store_id.366--view_id.775527

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

Diesel emissions have changed a LOT in the last few years. I would never buy a diesel now in any vehicle. It's one of the reasons people are moving away from the Mercedes Sprinter diesels and going to the Ford Transit with the 3.5 Ecoboost engine. People are tired of having Mercedes diesel...

Bow of boat hits winch when loading onto trailer

This is how my winch and roller is configured. Strap goes under the roller. You might be able to get yours modified like mine. I also wonder if it would be possible to redrill the holes holding on the winch portion to the post so it's tilted up to allow the strap to travel under the roller.

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

Kinda interesting you think the diesel was that much better pulling. Torque for the Ecoboost is 470lb-ft @ 2,500 RPM. Torque for the EcoDiesel is 420 @ 2000 RPM. Maybe it reaching the peak at 500RPM makes a ittle difference but the Ecoboost has 50 more lb-ft of torque overall. They cancelled...

I take it you have the long bed? I would have gotten the 3.73 bit not available in the shorter bed.

Maybe Dumb first time boat owner maintenance questions.

The best option, although more expensive, is to just buy a whole new shaft.

    7.4GL temp sender info needed

Use an IR temp gun and measure the housing where the sender was installed to see what your actual temperature is. If that shows 140 like it should, its your gauge.

Maybe Dumb first time boat owner maintenance questions.

If you have a tear in the u-joint bellows, expect to change the gimble bearing and u-joints. Actually, you will just change the entire drive shaft and likely the driveshaft seal where it goes into the drive. Hopefully not much water got into your drive becuase that is a definite possibility...

    Wheel bearings full of water

You disagree that the spec is 45,000RPM and that a wheel only rotates at 733RPM? The math is pretty simple. I guess those 100s of thousands of people that use the EZ-Lube and Bearing Buddys that fill their hubs full are littered along the highways!

    Wheel bearings full of water

The RPMs of a tapered wheel bearing in a wheel application is a fraction of the percent that they are rated to run at so its not even close to being an issue if the hub is full of grease. The temperature influence of the brakes and just the sun beating on them is WAY more of an effect. A...

    Wheel bearings full of water

LOL....so what? As long as the piston is not bottomed out and you can rock the piston, there is positive pressure in the hub which is all you want! You haven't pulled hubs and inspected bearings in 10 years? LOL
