    force 120 hi reving issue

High speed miss: run the boat and get it hot. Then run as fast as you can for 5min.(I'd die from a heart attack after 3 min)run the motor 5min. Then just turn the key off, don't throttle back just turn the key off. Then pull and inspect the plugs for proper burn.

    Battery storage

I'm the worst at battery storage. When I lived in Michigan or Maryland I'd leave it in the boat, hooked up. But I do make sure the top is clean and posts are clean and have a coating of white lithium grease, that's year round. The batteries I had in Mi. lasted as long as 10 years. Now I'm lucky...

    1978 Chrysler 85HP Powerhead Swap

Some cleaners and sprays can make the rubber swell and shut off the flow. The carb soaks are the worst for swelling the rubber. Just washing them off( I use Dawn) removes most of the chemicals and as they dry they shrink. Had a problem with early Seafoam. Used in the fuel and it swelled the...

    1978 Chrysler 85HP Powerhead Swap

The air screw, remove it and spray carb cleaner in the hole. That should clean any crud from the hidden passages. Make sure the needle(rubber tip) is good, the rubber tip not deformed. The solid needle: the seat, make sure it's not falling apart(magnifying glass)

Don't break it down any further. Just asking for trouble. How much crud was in the bowl when it was removed?? Lots?? then the welch plugs need removing and the passage needs cleaning. Very little?? then a spray can of cleaner with the straw can clean it.

    Help with FORCE 125XT

The kill switch is in the shifter, you look inside yet? Probably just rehook the wires??? That black plastic thing on the prop, it's designed for a different style(older) prop. Look up a parts diagram for a 1988 85/125 lower unit and see what's needed for the prop.

Pick up a can of cold soda pop after it's been set out for a bit. Moisture/condensation forms. When the carb is drawing air into the carb and past the reeds that cools the metal and condensation forms. (I did find a leak where the fuel line connects to fuel pump. Pulled off..cut line and was...

    force 120 hi reving issue

Exhaust plate leak, at the top, bottom or middle? Bottom: worst place for leaks as the 1/4-20 screws are usually rusted and break just looking at them. Middle: screws not as bad but still fairly easy to twist off. Top: a lot like the bottom, usually seized. If it was me? Unless the water gets...

    1980 Chrysler Sea King 15 Overheating/Waterpump Concerns

The plastic grommet if it's not sealing against the motor could cause the problem?? That crack isn't big enough to worry about. I'd get a heat gun and take the temp on different parts of the head. You have a good pump and it shows that it's pumping real good out the back, then I'd look at the...
