The sticker is the only place. If the boat, motor was sold as a package? The manufacturer has records of what motor was on the boat when sold??? If not felt tip pen and make a new one and take pics cause the new marker will wear off.

70s force 70... No reaction from key

1969 70hp. You need the switch with the push for choke. Sometimes WD40 sprayed into the switch can revive the old switch, spray activate , spray and repeat. Starter is grounded through the 2 bolts holding it in place? Pic of the wire in question? When taking pics, get closer.

    Low Compression on Cylinder #2

If they say .010 will work? then but a .010 piston and they can do the work. Where are you buying pistons? Every one I've ever done has needed a .020 over piston, even when the scoring didn't seem that bad?? Wiseco pistons is a bit more expensive(most cases) and easier to work with. Your piston...

    Low Compression on Cylinder #2

The shop manual has the bore size. The shop should be able to tell if the scoring can be cleaned up by a .020 or .010 bore. Then you buy the oversized piston. This is my opinion: I wouldn't spend $ on that motor. It's one of the worst Force ever made. My opinion.

Another Guy With Force 120 Issue

The pressure from the hose isn't strong enough to push water past the pump and up to the head/thermo. Hook the hose to the tube and turn it on, shouldn't need that much pressure to make water come up to the thermo. If it overheated almost immediately?? then maybe the sending unit is grounded...

70s force 70... No reaction from key

Click?? that means somethings getting power, but what? Test light and maybe a helper. Test light at the starter solenoid, have someone it the key and see where the light lights up?? On the solenoid, there's a yellow//red wire test there when turning the key. The light light up? then test at the...

1998 Force 90hp 2 stroke is it bad?

Transom. Tilt the motor up, then try pushing it up and down and see if the transom moves. Just you pushing up and down shouldn't move the motor.

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

"I'll get back to that sooner or later if anybody wants to learn about the gear system in these old engines and how to actually adjust them..." Talk about arrogant, after 35 years I've been doing it wrong. Part of this is making sure the right info is handed out. If it hurt your feelings? who...

    Help with FORCE 125XT

The difference in pitch and the way it affected my boat and wallet. 1988 21ft. twin 85hp. Forces 17p alum. 32mph 33 on a good day. I wanted more speed so I changed to a pair of 19p alum. I got more. speed went to 35-36 The bad: my fuel economy took a dump. I was using 15-20% more fuel. So the...

1998 Force 90hp 2 stroke is it bad?

Matt167 said: They are cross scavenged 2 strokes, which is technology that the other brands left behind in the 70's... I thought all of the big brands are still using this outdated technology?? I've owned at least 5-6 Forces. from 50-125 hp. They are a good running motor, somewhat harder on...

    Sparkplug reading

I don't really see anything wrong with any of them. Now if one was white from heat? or one oil soaked? or light brown? Then I might have something to say. Where are the air screws set? They're supposed to be set at 1 turn out and left there. But some motors just don't run right at that...

    Help with FORCE 125XT

Someplace on the prop should be the size or #s that tell the size. Never saw the 125XT before. Dress em up. Still the same Force.1987 early. From what I can see: the prop is from an older Force. The exhaust snout has been modified(cutdown). If you bought it at auction and it runs?? Good deal.
