    Check the relay socket metal parts in each socket space. They can overheat and cause erratic operation. Flashlight and a magnifying lens are very useful for looking.

    Be very cautious about small fragile parts. Like watches or PCB parts The vibrations can damage and destroy some items. Been there.

    Clicking relays can have burned away contacts. Measure the switched voltages.

    A cold enough engine will normally take a few minutes to fully warm up & drop the fast idle speed to normal idle speed.

    If the belt breaks at 60 mph ? Most engine will have valve & piston hits. Some engines can survive belt breakage.

    Bought a new Tachometer, Timing light / gun, Infrared Laser thermometer and a grease paint marker.

    It is really a odd ball nut on the 1986 28 SPL and 30 hp motors flywheel. Crowley Marine parts sheets even shows what my motor has. I never saw a domed nut before.

    I listened again. Why so much valve / lifter noise ? Check all the rocker arms for correct action adjustment. Way too noisy if hydraulic.

    Trailer Painting

    Any cutting and welding to a trailer. MUST ALL be done before the WHOLE frame is dipped in the plating tanks. You must NEVER NEVER cut, grind or weld the STEEL frame after plating !!!!
