    Before you start ripping into the lower unit and pump maybe check your tell- tale opening and tube to be sure they are open and flowing freely…often spiders/ bugs build nests or otherwise plug these up. Remove tube from head and probe with a piece of wire to remove small chunks of calcium/ salt...

    Not much to the water pump impeller job….no special tools….a couple of 2x4 studs side by side, screwed into top of work bench, enough space between them to accommodate lower unit works great….the lower unit oil is seperate from water pump job…do it whenever you wish. Take your time and grease...

    An exhaust leak under the cowling could cause what you describe…maybe run motor with top cowling off to see?

    Work on the I.D. Of the new impeller with some Emory cloth type sandpaper to relieve the interference fit….then slide it on….
