    If there is in fact a crank bearing going bad then it will need to be replaced....but how does the mechanic know it’s going bad? ......just by a sound? ....these motors are known to make lots of sounds and noises...

    Tilt/trim working sporadically

    Occasionally with a switch not working just right I put an air hose in and around the switch to blow off any dust or dirt particles in there....might be worth a try....

    Maybe carb float needle is sticking in the closed position and not allowing motor to run more than 10 seconds....

    2006 90hp yamaha started running rough after 1/4 mile from dock.

    Is a fuel/water seperater type fuel filter installed on transom?....if not, you may want to consider adding one....then have carbs cleaned again. Also, check your fuel tank vent screw to be sure it's open.

    Issue with gas tank being too large

    Best to keep your tank full for extended storage....with a heavier dosage of fuel stabilizer. A half full tank may get condensation/water in it from the air...especially if boat is stored near the water.

    Mercury sells their own brand (Quicksilver) of 2 stroke oil at Walmart for a fair price.....maybe use that.....

    My battery box is black plastic, held down by a 2 inch wide nylon strap with a plastic buckle.....been on there since 1999 when I bought the boat new....never any problems at all...

    Good looking boat!....the longer, heavier bunks with rollers should spread the load better and prevent hull/ keel damage....hopefully.

    Normally aspirated....maybe lighter, simpler, ease of maintenance, price, heat from turbocharger, etc., etc.....I feel confident they considered all options.....You got to know the V-12 on the motor is a status symbol among folks with the $$$$ to own these motors.

    Spar Varnish or Urethane for Deck Rails and Trim?

    If it was me I'd keep a can of teak oil and a rag handy and just re-apply every now and then.....the varnish and urethane will degrade in the UV/sunlight and may require sanding and re-application, which will be more work later....
