    Thanks, TBV Dizzy and TKS carb If the pump runs for even a short time, the carb bowl gets filled and will run for a while until the bowl empties. If pump is not running then look at the starter to fuel pump connection, purple/Yellow wire.

    What's the serial number? Start with basics, compression test, check for spark on all cylinders What's timing set at and was is set using base timing mode? What is the fuel pressure? Have you checked for codes?

    Not vapor lock Need to tell us what you have and don't have. Is it spark or fuel issue? If still fuel, what is the fuel pump doing or not doing? What is the motor serial number?

    Compression numbers are not within 10% low to high but are good enough to run fairly well EST ignition, was it placed in base timing mode to set timing? Is there a place to connect a vacuum gauge?

    Don't know of one later then 28. Might be a later install manual or separate Digital manual, don't know Looking at Mercury parts (only place to see your motors) it shows the shift bracket better and there is not any tool that could be used so far as I can see other then with mechanical shift
