    Mercruiser 233 Overheating--Out of Ideas

Yes you can, get a short piece of clear hose, a double male barbd fitting and couple hose clamps. Remove the hose going into the thermostat housing from the drive and install short hose.

Mercrusier 350 MAG MPI - RPM issue under a load

Yes 3B 18 but 3B props normally come in odd numbers. If that's the case get 3B 17. If rpms get to high and your on plane go with 3B 19, but start lower first

Starting outside of boat, on stand

Have seen but I wouldn't do it that way I like using a grease pencil Remove all the plugs. Back all rocker nuts out so their either nuts are loose, or the rocker nut is at the top of the stud. Rotate motor 1/2 turn. Look for any rocker which is down opening a valve. Go to valve next to it...

    IAC problems

Weird issue for sure. No start and after IAC replaced it does start but idles at 1200 Agree with your test procedure, should blink with each connection as manual shows One test is turn engine OFF, unplug IAC for 10 seconds. When restarted does it idle 200 rpm higher?

    IAC problems

So when you said Means it does same as before IAC was replaced. You have to keep the idle up around 1200 to keep motor running

    IAC problems

If I understand correctly It was running fine until it wouldn't idle and would die. Could get it started with fast idle. After replacing the IAC it now will start but idles at 1200 RPM? If this is true, I would suspect the IAC was not installed correctly, or the wrong part was installed What...

    Mercruiser 260 weird misfire

Maybe antisiphon valve on top the tank but usually if they clog they don't free up. Same goes with collapsing fuel line, tank pickup and fuel pump

    Carburetor Issues, Dripping Carbs...

You can check fuel pump pressure by making one with a plastic or brass barbed Tee and so rubber fuel line, and carb fitting from auto parts store. Disconnect from carb, and connect Tee, the use other fitting at carb. Can buy a vacuum fuel pump gauge for $20 or so, or rent from same auto parts...

    Mercruiser 260 weird misfire

Sounds like a fuel issue. Gas is going bad or its getting water in it. Maybe where you buy gas at end of season. Does it sit outside where rain can get to fill port? To late this season maybe, but try dumping filter contents into clear container to see if there is something except clean gas...

    Mercruiser 260 weird misfire

Carb is gunked up and it takes some running to clear it up. If your running Stabil year round I would stop, only use it during winterization. The misfire at high rpm is lean condition so carb is not supplying enough fuel until things free up and flow better

    Reverse Issues

If "mechanic" adjusted correctly then it may need a new lower shift cable. Being a 2005 it should still be good unless its used a lot maybe, or in salt water I most cases when this happens it goes in REV fine but FWD not very well. When this does happens, in most cases its the upper shaft and...
