Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

I would go with the used motor oil. I know cutters that have used it for years. I have often used it myself. There is a downside if you are cutting eight hours a day your jeans get very dirty. You get new oil on your jeans but it doesn't show as much. To paraphrase a regular contributor to...

What puzzles me is that I have never met a "Troy" but everybody I have ever fished with says they know at least one.

    Anyone know What these are????

Color Black Brand ASelected Material Cast Iron, Metal Straight cast iron does not take well to bending stress. Also will not let the joint maintain a natural arc if it is strong enough to not break under the load. If they are malleable cast iron they may work.

    Anyone know What these are????

Started to think about this and once again more questions this answers. Treating it as an arch made me wonder how the loads and stress varied as the width increased i.e. 5 feet to 10 feet with no increase in cross sectional area of the battens. The result of the half hour or so I spent looking...

    Ice Fishing

For the last two years the ice fishing season has lasted about a week on my home lake in Central Pennsylvania. And then not for the faint of heart since a week ago Saturday only two (or possibly three depending on which report) fell through. The bright side it has been the first time in 55...

    Not What I Expected

As you go through life you often run into things that don't turn out as expected. Such as sneaking under the tent to see the circus for free and realizing you are in the middle of a revival meeting. My turn to make dinner tonight so I thought I would try something new. Here is the box and...

    Electric Trolling Motor Recommendations

Just a personal preference but I like the bow mounted tiller motor on a smaller boat like my 14' v hull tinny. Keeps every thing simple Had remote (foot) operated on my last two bass boats but they had a lot more room on their bow decks.

    Electric Trolling Motor Recommendations

Watched the video and wondered about the handling but it was a nice neat job. Did have some qualms about taking boat building advice from someone who doesn't know the difference between a jon boat and a semi v hull. I have a 12 footer I use on some of the small electric motor only lakes and...

Actually that might be Spencer Tracy. I was thinking of turning my book into a movie and thought he would be ideal for my part. However I have been calling the last number I had in my Rolex for him with no answer for two weeks. Having the same problem reaching Oliver Hardy for the part of...

    A I Music

Just found this artificial Intelligence done song of Canadian Pacific as if Gordon Lightfoot sang it. This is scary because it is just the beginning. Imagine when pros and real computer companies get into this. My wife who is the world's biggest Lightfoot fan (She played in a group that...

    Oar length

I have never rowed a boat with 2X4's but once my son in law and I paddled a 19' Crownline I/O about 500 yards back to the dock with two water skis as paddles.
