My memory isn't what it used to be. State Street was RT 40 and was where I turned off the interstate to get my load. I seem to remember you could not drive a semi on city streets until after 7:00 am. If I was running early there was parking at the PA/MD line off the four lane so you could...

What do the ships' crews do doing the long layover. If Baltimore is anything like I remember it from 60 years ago the bar girls on State Street could make enough to retire by the time the channel is open.

    Nobody fishing?

That would be fine with my wife as she could stay home and get a head start on setting stuff outside for the yard sale.

    Break out the dramamine.

Got me thinking what was the exact date. Found this; Official reports have seas running at 20' with swells 40+. Some unverified reports claim up to 60. The King was hit by three rogue waves in a row. I was attached to a sister ship that was scheduled to go through there at the same time but...

    Looking for some help

Have you pulled the plugs right after cranking and cranking. Are they wet, dripping, dry? That would be the first quick check I would do. If dry put a little mixed fuel in a squirt bottle and spray into carb while trying to start. If you a least get a pop or bang you have fuel problems.

    Break out the dramamine.

Fort Eustis, Va. – More pieces of the extensive Pentagon effort to build a pier and establish a sea route for humanitarian aid to Gaza departed from the East Coast this week. On Tuesday, four Army watercraft left the pier at Fort Eustis, Va., sailing down the James River, to the Chesapeake Bay...

    Best all around hunting knife?

That is just like my Ken Onion. I usually take it with me if I am dressed up because it is thinner and 4/10th of an ounce lighter that my Schrade. Don't usually take it out on the boat for fear of losing it and it cost me more than any other pocket knife I own.

    Best all around hunting knife?

Used to carry an Old Timer folding 3 inch, now a Schrade (Buck Style) 3 inch, or on occasion a Ken Onion 3 1/2 thumb flip. Back in my working days I have gutted up to 7 deer in one night. Teamed up with a game guy who probably confiscated more deer from poachers than any other warden in...

What does this marking mean on this new to me outdrive?

Mark the shafts and turn it by hand. Will tell you the gear ratio for sure. AK remains a mystery.

Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

I have never had a nose sprocket go bad. The only time I ever grease one would be after cleaning the bar in solvent to clean it up before filing it back square. Just to prevent rusting the bearing as it may spend weeks in the back of the truck before being put back in use. I don't baby my...

Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

Tip of the day. Many casual chainsaw owners are not aware of the grease hole for the clutch bearing. A hit of grease now and then is all it takes. Even when I am using my saws on a regular basis I only hit them every month or two. www.youtube.com/watch?v=80UMQQtYuqM

Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

Get on one of the arborist or chainsaw forums and you will find that 75% of the content is "What is the best 2 stroke oil", "Is it necessary to grease the sprocket on the bar", and "Used motor oil for bar oil". Similar to boating forums except Pennzoil doesn't make bar oil but there never is a...
