    Braking while in reverse...

When on Ice or packed snow if I brake while in reverse the front end get pulled all over the place. No control unless the vehicle is put in neutral. Happens with both RWD vehicles I have. Is this telling me the rear brake adjusters might not be working or something else?

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

kc - Yea it is a good thing. Not much boat work this weekend, did spend a few hours yesterday. Spent most of the weekend working on some tile. Making the Admiral happy is important, she had picked up the tile at a garage sale. Cost more for the mortar than the tile. She is a bottom feeder...

    siezed motor question?

This is not mine, was looking at CL and found an adv for a Evinrude 120hp. The ad said .. 1985 Evinrude 120 HP Motor is seized due spark plug not being tight. Could this really happen from a loose plug?

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

Anyone care to let me know what the factory used to bond the hull to the sole. It is black, thick and very hard. Some shredded mat and cloth. Nothing like the clear resin the PO had used. Any input or guesses?

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

Put one of my tools to work with a new blade. Does a great job cutting up cubes. Then you can clean off the hull. It would be easier if it was smooth but still works great. Was able to find the back side of the bow eye. Clean it up and found a nice rotten wood block as a backer The...

Yeah have a good bone snapper, but the inversion table has kept him at bay for about a year.:joyous: Bow eye is behind the foam tucked in the keel. You should see the keel this thing has. I'll take a pic when able. At this point this is my work space. There is a 10' 2x4 on the windshield...

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

Busy day around here today. Picked up gas for the mowers and blowers and... Propane for the grill. Cleaned the gutters ( love my leaf blower for that). Fixed the ice melt wire on the back of the house. Helped the Admiral put up some grape juice for making jam (she makes the best). New...

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

Have figured out that in order to fix this... I need to get behind this. The other reason the bow structure needs to come out is... The floor is rotten underneath on each side. I was hoping I wouldn't really have to take that out. With the bow eye loose, the floor and the seam out it...

    Please help identify this Starcraft

Don't think the Mariner's ever came with side panels like those. Most had rod holders on the sides. Wires coming out of the Starboard panel? Is there a HIN below the starboard transom cap? Maybe a FM 160. Top boat in pic.

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

Was able to peel off some of the bondo. Searched online and the body guys say to use heat. Torch or heat gun. I used a torch because I don't have a heat gun. Low flame with several passes warms it up, deosn't even burn the paint. Loosens up the bondo and it scraps off much easier. Used a wire...

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

A PO sure put lot of thought on repairing his tin boat. Truly stupid thoughts. He must never heard of iboats. The seam below is riveted. The whole seam. As you can see they did a great job of covering it up ... with Bondo!:mad-new: So what is the easiest way to remove bondo from an...

Or maybe a hypnotic one. I'll give a call to David Blaine when the time comes.:joyous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUTqEXRuxQ8 This is the seam where the hull bottom meets the side. Under the hard goop that looks like liquid nails are the rivets. The plywood will be on top...

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

The port side where the foam did not cover the corner had some small evidence of water intrusion. Only about 1" at the seam with the hull. The foam against the transom was wet but only again for about 1". Removed about 16" of foam from the port side past the center keel. Dry, solid and...

Lone Star Medallion II 1966, Oh Scrap!

cc - The side supports ^^^ are factory. Decided to perform a little exploratory surgery. The resin and cloth peel right up. The back 4' of plywood removed. Looks like the last attempt was to leave the foam in and glue the ply to the foam. The PO cut the original wood right down the...
