    Trailer backup lights

I added some LED lights using a separate 4 prong plug and wires. Great for night loading and helpful for backing up. Unplug the trailer lights and plug in the other circuit.

Starcraft 21' Mariner That's no longer for sale

Just to show all of you the Mariner is still floating. http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMAG02701.jpg This is the 4 year anniversary of being a Starmada member. We celebrated by taking the boat up north to the land a Piperjoe for a week. The weather was chilly and rainy over half the...

    Powerwinch 812 convert to strap?

Picked up a used Powerwinch and the cable is shot. Looking on the web I see that Powerwinch offers strap kit that is 20' long. Has anyone changed over to this or retrofitted a longer strap? Maybe something like this and convert the hook to a latching hook. Kinedyne 323040 Winch Strap 30...

    Winch Control ?

Found a 2000lb atv winch at the scrap yard. It's one like the HF imports or fleabay, much like this. It runs and came with everything but the controls or wiring. Trying to figure out a cheap / inexpensive way to get this operational. Looking around I see two options. 1) the momentary...

    OMC #172998 Voltmeter On a 1985 Rude 90 VRO

Will this work? All the listing I see show it from 1976 to 1983 outboard models. Does it require the wiring kit #173602 or 173611 to install it?

Neo Angle Shower, Re-caulk or Replace

Have a Neo-angle shower unit that's about 15 years old, fiberglass. The seam at the pan to the 3 surround panels needs to be re-caulked (again). The caulk get nasty dis-colors, moldy(?). I have done this twice before. It seems that it is discoloring faster then when originally installed. Is...

    Rescued another Rude, 1956 10HP

Put together nice running 10012. Picked it up for $25 less a lower unit. Couple trips to my favorite junk yard for a lower unit, a ported cover plate and a fuel pump; converting it to a single line tank. Rebuilt the LU and water pump, pulled the flywheel, inspected everything and cleaned the...

Quiz Time - Can you ID this Bowectomy

Saw this boat last year once, it popped up again near my MIL's house. I was intrigued by the bow steering wheel. Today my son and I stopped when I saw the boat. Had a great talk with the owner who told me how the boat used to have a Merc 650 on it and when he was young they would fish and ski...

    Trailer projects, need some input

Picked up a twofer, two trailers, 2 wheels, 3 axles, 2 posts, 1 1/2 jacks, 1 winch and 30 feet of chain link fence. Figured might not get hurt too much if they are scrapped, $100 invested. The Shorelin'r I'm hoping to clean up to use with a 14' Tinny that weighs about 200 lbs. Here it is...

Need HELP!!! what kind of rim/hub is this?

Re: Need HELP!!! what kind of rim/hub is this? I have something sort of similar, it's an Ace Trailer out of Texas. Unknown year. It was used for a 12' Tinny after it was picked up and converted, looked like it was used for a jet ski when I picked it out of a dumpster. Now it is used for a...

    14' Duracraft Utility, Maybe a 50's?

Found another Tinny to fix up. The number 14038 is stamped on the hull and on the Duracraft tag. Thinking it's the serial or hull number. Looked for a model number on Fiberglassics but nothing seemed to match. 14' bow to stern, 48 or 49 beam and the transom is 36 at the top. It's a...

Tinny Bow Mount Trolling Motor, Maybe?

Picked up a Minn Kota Turbo 555, 33lbs of thrust, at an auction. Cost was under $40 and spent a few hours repairing the cables. It's working perfectly now. Looking for ideas on how to try and mount it. If it even possible or feasible. I have some nice lengths of extruded aluminum that...

57 Rude 18hp Convert to electric start

Last year I revived my 1957 Evinrude 15020 18 hp. It runs great, at least it did last year, we'll see after the ice melts this year. One of the things that was posted in my rebuild thread was a picture by High Trim of an 57 electric start model. It peaked my interest in converting this motor...

Little Arkansas Traveler, Wood gunwale rails?

Going to look at this tomorrow. Pretty sure it's a 50's Arkansas Traveler. Familiar with Tinny's and how to clean them up, seal hull and replace the transom. The big question I have is about the wood supporting the gunwale. From what I can gather researching the web there are 3 - 1/2"...
