    Ready to call 911

This video is a little better in my humble opinion....shows how to make the brush holder while you assemble. Saves the cost of buying one plus the other guy didn't explain or aline it properly. Cheers

1976 6 hp Evinrude "slipping or over reving" coming up on throttle.

I'm not aware of any "prop nut".... should be a shear pin and a cotter pin. I'm betting internal gear assembly issue or two old fat guys in an overloaded 14 ft boat shooting birds might have to do something with it! 😜 Might be time for a bigger motor.

Yes, so it's probably time to tell him how to lap the new flywheel and mount it correctly so it doesn't happen again to him.

Not sure anyone needs to answer that, common sense says "yes" Finding the problem often is much harder than fixing it so I think you shall be rewarded soon.

You need to diagnose the fuel pump before diving into all of this. Put drips in the cylinder but use a small spray bottle of fuel (50 to 1 fuel) to keep it running (throat of the carb) and then start pumping the ball and see if it runs. It's either fuel pump, carb related (not cleaning it...

Drain screw on the float bowl. If it's full of oil and no gas your half way to solving it.

Being told by who? Bogging down sounds more fuel related.

    2003 Johnson 90hp fuel pump

If I remember right there is a check valve that can go bad and your carbs flood with oil. The test was to remove the cap on the oil bottle when running and it should clear up... Been awhile since I worked on one but open up a float bowl and see if oil flows out (no gas) If that's the case...

After you get it running with gas in the cylinders, try pumping the primer ball on your fuel hose. If it runs than your fuel pump needs help.
