    Fine silicon carbide will be the stuff to use.-----After one try you will see how much lapping needs to be done to get the perfect fit / match of the tapers.

    Prices on Amazon sometimes include the " free delivery " -----And can be a good deal for someone who lives miles from a store.------After all coffee at the drive through is about $30 a gallon .----Convenience costs big $$$$

    I doubt that a leak at the primer is a " vacuum leak " and if it is it would not be significant !

    Milky fuel in carb intake force 85hp

    Piece of carboard with wires glued onto it.----Just a 3/8" gap between the wires.----Stick one end in sparkplug boot and other end to block.----Make it so you can test 3 or 4 cylinder at one time!----Or buy that tool.-----Have been testing outboard spark to up to 1/2" gap since about 1968 or so.

    The flywheel key is ONLY there to put the flywheel in the correct position!-----The flywheel is driven by the locking tapers when properly torqued.----Flywheel must be assembled clean and dry.----Note in some years the flywheel key was the same part on a 9.9 HP and a 300 HP OMC outboard.

    Some-----Winner----boats used fiberglass stringers.-----But the one I repaired for my brother still had a wood transom.-------Time to check out the transom I think.

    Drill tight through.-----Use longer bolts.----sister those braces.----No such thing as ----" can't be done " ---on a boat !

    Water will be at the bottom screw.----If no water shows there then there is no need to drain it every year.-----Saves you some beer tokens.

    Post the results of a compression test here.------And does spark jump a gap of at least 3/8" on a test device , yes or no ?
