    Many years of crossflow V-4 have that gear case!!----And gearcases from say a 1980 model V-4 would also fit.----So easy in my opinion.

    I would rather have say a 1992 V-4 crossflow ( also an exact match ) unit in good condition.-----Than a new aftermarket one !!

    That is an older v-4 crossflow gearcase.-----And in my opinion it is a more durable gearcase than those installed on the 60 degree loopers.---.----Remove the prop.----Look inside and see if there are 4 screws holding the propshaft bearing housing in place.

    Correct that is the fuel primer valve with the red lever for manual operation.-----Get the repair kit.-----But I think there may be more issues with the motor.

    Testing spark has nothing to do with the sparkplug itself.----Test the spark with a tester or make one with some wire / cardboard / glue.-----If flywheel key is sheared the timing will be off.

    Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on the 3 leads , yes or no ?-----Has the battery been load tested , even if new ?---Flywheel key checked ?----Water pump impeller changed every 5 years ?----Water in the fuel ?-----Factory fuel pump installed or an Amazon special ?

    Bad water pump impellers , but it ran fine??----Post the actual compression numbers here.----Need to evaluate these engines before spending any beer tokens on them.
