    I had a problem with my last one and it had to do with the nut tension or something. When you had it off did you look to see if the pawls were coming out instantly? Sorry I forgot what I did but it fixed that.

    I to vote that your wasting your time. When they get that stuck even if you get them out they ruin the crankcase splines. I've tried about ten and only saved one. Good luck.

    I couldn't quite follow your problem but when most people report back firing it's because they have the wrong wires going to the spark plugs. Recheck your wiring.

    When your working on it while off, doing say throttle linkage adjustments, always take the throttle back down before shifting it back to nutruel. Shouldn't jam up anymore.

    I have a theory as to why your breaking your part....just not sure it applies to this motor. When your working on it when it's off, to get it to go to full throttle you have to be in forward. Now if you don't return it to idle and you shift it back into nutruel it can bind up the linkage. Has...

    Since the pandemic started it appears that parts have gone up so your motor or other motors might be worth more than has been stated. I have seen parts on ebay climb recently. Pretty sure this trend will continue with the current thinking with what's good for the planet.

    Leaking 1972 25hp Johnson lower unit oil drain plug

    Looks like a heli-coil too... If you install the lower screw and try to fill it from the top it won't fill. Both screws have to be out to fill.

    Should be same threads as an older domestic car. Might need to chase out the one spark plug hole or add a heli-coil. Put the least amount of money in and see if she will run.....might not be any good.

    Fuel hose connectors won't latch at Lower Cover.

    I had to replace mine on my 92...but I used a used one of another parts motor I had. There are probably 93 million of those out there because I don't think they fail much. I now now know of two!
