Next time your out and it does this, pull kill tether, hold choke in for 5 second count while cranking, reattach tether...

    Well you have a Yamaha powerhead built for Merc and they do this as the driveshaft seals the oil pump...so yes this is my best advise .

    Take your spark tester and swap coil output lead from #4 to a know working cylinder(org lrads) . If it sparks and other lead stops replace pack

    You have the "bat wing " unit.. a impact wrench and a rag stuffef in pinion gear usually gets it.

    Motor will overheat with t-stats removed...install new ones or restrictor washers
