    Replace the cap on oil tank....it did not release internal pressure and push oil thru VRO into carbs over setting.

    A neon one will not change colors and will flash at weaker voltages. Just cause it flashed does not mean it has the correct voltage to produce a arc bridge under compression.

    Test with adjustable gap spark tester...must jump minimum 3/8 gap. The neon testers are garbage.

    If the BB is still in place you can tap it in just a tad with a small punch and seal with nail polish. Fixed dozens this way..

    TPS is on right side and dont touch it unless you know how to test/set it. There is no cure for low compression. Here is compression recommendation from manual.

    Those are Mercurys PVS plugs and are for acceleration purposes only.. If his mechanic is Mercury trained ,they need to test compression and TPS setting.
