    On a Merc carb or Rochester 2GC I'm not seeing an aspirator. Some do have main jet with aspirator, just not seeing one on these carbs. That said, there are no new carbs, only rebuilt ones. They would normally be the same, and if not then the rebuilder didn't have the parts to rebuild correctly.

    Changing an I/O to OB has been done many times and can be done for yours if you have the finds and skill to do. Like most mods it usually cheaper to just buy what you want.

    I paid to have mine removed, then took it back to apply epoxy coating. If your going back with bottom paint only take off the bottom paint and leave any barrier coat that remains well attached. Have to have good respirator to DIY

    Have sharpened many knives but I'm no expert by any means. In most cases keeping the angle with each pass is where most have issue, including my self. A jig is what helps me.

    Without power to the coil, check for power at the choke with key ON. Could be something as simple as the key switch went bad. With the tach bouncing, this could be power of the tach is shorting out. Run though the TBV trouble shooting guide and see what show up

    Those items would be hard to find even on this side of the pond. If they where found most likely they would be in bad shape. Hardware latches. hinges and such should be available. The actual hatches may need to be made.

    It will change at idle but there is no info on how much. There is a ALT test at 1500-2000 rpm's which should be at least 30 amps. So if you can get 20 that would be to bad. If your willing to go high dollar can switch to Lithium Ion bats. That change fast and can provide full output amps...

    Having that much advance can slow the rotation, and more so if it grunts during the rotation. When spark hits before TDC and trys to spin it backwards. If not doing that then cable connections, battery, starter. Place a voltmeter on the battery and see if the voltage drops below 10V when cranking
