Commander 3000 upgrade to mercury 4000 control box help

This is the wiring with a trailer button For all around wiring, I would connect the Purple/White with the Blue/White. Doing this bypasses the trailer switch and is no longer needed, but will still work. So far as the not working when moving, this is another issue and need to know which...

    Dissimilar Metal Question

Had to replace the fuel tank on my dump truck and went to Aluminum instead of steel. Tank comes in and looks good, but has brass fittings in the top. Dissimilar metals tells me that brass and aluminum is not a great thing. Its not terriable but not real good. The brass fittings are for plugs...

    ECM problem ! Swap 2004 Mercruiser 5.0L to a 2014 5.7L block. (2005 Sea Ray Sundeck 240)

My opinion you will need 866124T01 or 6 for a 350 Mag MPI Open cooling Reasoning: Used your 5.0 S/N to get the year range They do not make a 5.7 MPI only a 350 MPI Suggest talking to Dealer Fun Times muc

    Volvo 4.3L Fuel Issue

I'm thinking either a weak fuel pump or a clogged up antisiphon valve Make sure your carb filter is in the correct direction. The pic below shows the changes for paper type and stone

Going to Attempt Bravo 3 Prop Shaft Seal Replacment.

The inner seal is the hardest to remove and I would not use the 2 seals to replace, I would use the single double seals for both the inner and outer instead of using the original 2 seals each 1 each Small inner seal 26-8M0033407 (replaces 2 each lip seals) 1 each Large outer seal 26-861694...

Hydraulic Fluid Leak - what am I looking at here??

You want 10W30 motor oil, not 30W non-detergent To change seal, need to remove motor and drive. Then unbolt transom plate and remove transom assembly from the transom.

    mercarb rebuild

There is a float level setting and float drop. The most important is the level setting. Adjustment for drop is done by the tang on the rear of the float. Things start getting off by the info not posted about the metal float. In the pick it shows where to get the measurement from but not the...

    Hydraulic Test Kit

My D3 dozer has some steering issues and need to find a hydraulic test kit which will work. I have two fittings which are STOR Boss fittings (7/16-20 and 9/16-18). Some of the kits found are 9000 psi others 8K psi. Currently have gauges for 400 and 2000 and the D3 does not use that high of...

There is a spring inside the upper portion of the control which is pushes down on the trigger. The trigger is attached to the rod which drops into a slot to lock in neutral. You didn't say what year the control is but this is where I think it is...

    gimble housing is loose

If your talking about the studs and nut which hold the outdrive on the bell housing, then they should be good and tight using a 3/8 drive ratchet. The torque spec is 50 ft lbs. They should be self locking nuts (Nylock) There is also a gasket which goes between drive a bellows

350 mag mpi overheats only at idle

Assuming your pump housing was in good shape, I would look at item 2 the check valve, distribution drain housing, item 20 the Tee and item 9 the manifold. Something has increased a restriction in the main feeds so water is going in other directions and not so much in the main feed lines
