you wont find a new block as GM moved from that platform in 2014.
even the old SBC you wont find new GM blocks, only aftermarket
your best bet is find a 2007-2014 GM truck and pull the motor. this is also about 1/3 the cost of rebuilding a motor. you can get a low mileage 4.3 from a late...
first, welcome aboard.
the "234" block is the 2007-2014 motor. base model Silverado and Siera trucks had them as well.
why do you say you need a new block? did you freeze bust it? if so, you also need new heads, intake manifold and exhaust manifolds
cheapest to get whole long-block at that...

look at link 14, go thru that in its entirety. look at every photograph, watch every video.
then go on to links 15, 17, 18, 2, 3, 4a, and 4b
Nida is not far behind it.
however in the case of a 90's boat, its an option. I personally would use ACX or BCX at $35 a sheet as it will last another 20-30 years and by then the boat will have been sold/replaced/etc.
Balsa is a great core material and still used today on many larger boats. the cockpit sole and the foredeck on my boat are all balsa core and even Ted's Cruiser has a balsa core foredeck

how is any of that relevant to...
the vinyl looks like it has torn on the edge. on most door cards, usually it wraps about an inch around the back side. the only two choices is a red-neck-engineer fix like you mention with silly-cone or other, or pull the door card and do it right by pulling the center out of the panel and...
If you had access to the connectors like I do, I would suggest an Amphenol ATP-06-2S and ATP-04-2P connector and terminals. however what Roscoe has above is very easy to source locally and get done today.
controls need lube, your neutral only button was stuck
raw water pump needs to be looked at as well as the t-stat
how long has the oil filter been on there? 50 hours or once a year is the oil and filter schedule
find your leak. could be bellows not sitting right, could be hole in y-pipe...
are you talking the bit of plastic with the 2 slots? if so, make your own. I believe that is 0.060" thick (1.5mm) I would cut it out of garolite sheet available from McMaster Carr.
