    Solar charging batteries

Scary thought that people would go a full year without checking their battery !! This is where a maintainer for LA batteries comes in. My LifePo4 battery company recommends the battery get a charge/ discharge every three months in storage. Maintenance is everything, no matter what !

Loose Strap From Winch To Bow

Straps can stretch from being wet or sun....most likely someone took the stress off it and didn't tell you. As mentioned, do a quick checkup and test before using it. I also remove tension on the winch when parking my boat, habit for sure....probably would not remember doing so from being a habit.

    Chinese carbs

My Cabela's/ Bass Pro card has been excellent for warranty claims or poor quality purchases. Issue by Capital One, they have been on top of any complaint I have had and the interest rate has been lower than any others. Been with them for over 25 years, no complaints.

    Chinese carbs

This is why I buy these things with my CC that guarantees my purchase. In this case, once the dealer stated the carb had no warranty, a simple call to the CC company would have gotten me a full refund. How you pay can effect how the service after the sale is handled !

How do I get that last inch?

Some folks can get away with cheating safety. Years back a fellow was in a crash while towing his boat. Yep the boat had no safety chain and came up over the winch stand. Insurance company deducted a substantial amount of his claim due to his negligence of not having a safety chain in use. Many...

How do I get that last inch?

Probably from quick assembly from the factory. In every boat trailer I have owned ( probably 2 dozen or more) and having worked at a marina/ boat dealer, every trailer I have saw has the safety chain pulling down toward the tongue....this also.makes them much easier to attach with little play...

It will be a miracle if they come back, usually once dead, they are dead forever.

    1970s Starcraft SS 160 refinish

Why strip....paint looks solid in the pics, sand lightly, prime any bare spots and repaint. Save the elbow grease for interior work, stripping the hull will not make it more valuable.

How do I get that last inch?

Safety chain should go down to the tongue and have only enough play to get it attached. In case of an emergency stop you don't want the bow to climb up over the bow stop !

    waterlogged foam in bowrider

Look for damage outside the hull, any dings, bangs or scrapes can cause a leak. Fiberglass is not totally water proof, it is the gelcoat that seals it, any damage to the gel coat can cause a leak.

    ‘93 Pro17 with a 40?

Tracker has always offered motor upgrades if your willing to pay for it. No way to know for sure if it came from dealer that way or swapped for a bigger motor by a previous owner

    waterlogged foam in bowrider

If your going to cut into it, consider doing everything as that wood will deteriorate fast now that UT has become wet. Why do the job twice ?
