    Transom saver or no?

Most savers that I have seen, have a spring loaded or a snubber that has some give under severe stress, yet keeps motor from flopping around. you don't want the motor to flop up and down, yet some kind of give or control in a severe situation. It is the constant flopping up and down that causes...

Silliest Question on Fuel Mix - Thank you for your patience

    Transom saver or no?

This could be argued until the end of time....bottom line is, if your worried about transom weakness then buy a transom saver, if you think your motor mount is solid, then take the gamble. No one can make you decide, your boat....

Actually been using Pennzoil marine two stroke oil for about as long as I can remember. Mfgr says it can be used in both air and water cooled engines which I have done with O issues. BP had a coupon for the quicksilver stuff so I bought some. Looks exactly the same even though that may mean...

    Transom saver or no?

Typical issue when maxing out the engine size on any boat, especially older boats built before the heavy four strokes came into play. Many are more than 100# heavier than there old two stroke models. Hanging out over the back enhances that leverage....

    Transom saver or no?

It will tilt, but needs to be locked into place. The power trim on a motor is strong enough to hold it in position, but without that, the motor can flip up and down on rough roads. In the past, I have made a wood block to fit into the tilt mechanism to hold the motor in position, then add a...

How sturdy is the transom the 35 is mounted on...what us the max hp rating on the boat ? Does the motor flop around when going down rough roads ? If your motor is at max capacity, or your transom can flex, or your motor can flop around ....then yes, a saver is recomended. If boat can handle...

They don't go bad just sitting there....adding a couple squirts of grease every so often lets you see if there is any water inside....if so, you need a repack and seals. My boat gets used once a week from May thru Nov....in my 40 years of using some form of bearing buddy, never have had any...
