    Finally, a Funnel Solution!

I got in the habit of cleaning them up and putting them in my bottom drawer in my toolbox. The shop I worked at supplied funnels, within a week they were all gone. I resorted to hiding my own, if I didn’t they would disappear. Someone would ask to borrow one and it was a big nope! You all lose...

    Dragging caliper away from home

I had replaced all my calipers, hoses, pads, and rotors on my jeep. Two weeks later I was about 10 miles from home and I had to keep my foot on the gas as the rig felt like it was working rather hard. Took a couple miles to find a side road to pull off the highway with heavy traffic. No shoulder...

    Loosing Faith in Humanity . . .

Gave away a 21’ Sylvan deep-v to a local kid, Mercruiser drive, small cuddly cabin. He used three years to get to work on Madeline island and was happy as a clam. This year he upgraded to a a different boat, and moved the Sylvan on to another guy who wanted to get into fishing on Lake Superior...

    Loosing Faith in Humanity . . .

I attempted to sell a 5.00 item on marketplace. The dude showed up from 25 miles away and said he wanted to take it home and try it. If it was what he was looking for he would come back and pay me. I still have it in my shed. I’ll throw it away before I let people scam me.

    1981 MerCruiser 120 tick/ squeak

Esgwheel: not overthinking. I think of it as in relation to the pistons also. One turn of the crankshaft = the piston has come to a complete stop twice, top and bottom and changed Direction. With a car it happens at around 2000 rpm’s. A boat at 4000 rpm’s it happens a lot more. Wonder how the...

    Testing my temp gauge

I get that, but it will show you if the gauge is reading. I often get annoyed at squaking people but do my best to ignore them. or just put a temporary pipe plug in the motor if you are running it.

    1981 MerCruiser 120 tick/ squeak

Your riser/ manifold should not get that hot. Service the impeller, look for any clogs in the input from the pump. The tock may be the exhaust flapper.

    Testing my temp gauge

You can test it in a pot of hot water without running the motor. Be sure to hook up a go ground and keep the connector on the top.

    Raw water impeller question.

That may or may not work. Hope for the best. Around here on Lake Superior, it doesn’t take long to get miles away from the nearest ramp or shoreline. Having a dependable boat is rather important.

Need some info on adapting a Sierra A1 marine fuel line to a Carter mechanical fuel pump

I’ve always understood that flex line from the pump to the carburetor has to be pipe on a marine situation.

    Raw water impeller question.

On a side note, one of our customers services his boat himself had an overheat issue, he had tried the clear hose trick, cleaned the ps cooler, thermostat, checked all fittings for leaks. then he had us looking at it. I did all the stuff he had done also. The last thing I told him was possibly...

In reality, you spray an adhesive on,then apply the flocking by sprinkling it on the surface. Been a lot of years since I’ve done it.
