No oil on dip stick after adding 6 liters

Yes, leave it sit with the stick out A bit. They like to vacuum lock, either I get nothing on the stick or it looks over full. Even when checking after it sits from the last time you ran it I pull the stick and let it sit for awhile. This is true with any motor.

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

Changed my switches. Nope. The stupid leds still flicker unless I take out one bulb in a three light fixture. Yes I replaced all the wiring to 20 amp wiring all the way to the 100 amp panel. And put in another new fixture.

Or remove the shaft and have a machine shop weld it up and re-machine it to make it like original. I'm on my first cup of coffee so be easy on me.

How would you answer this question?

Looked it up. Seems like a lot of boat but then yet again you state he wants to get back into boating. I’d ask him what kind of boat he has had in the past and stuff related to that. I’ve seen quite a few people upsize their boats and can’t handle them very well. You know kids like to get on the...

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

Depends on the condition of the battery, have you had it tested? If it’s weak the alternator will try to keep up and you will see higher voltage. And after y start it, it will read higher as the alternator is filling it back up. After running for 1/2 hour it should level out. The solenoid the...

Stretched Shift cable. Cut to shorten?

I’ve personally bent that shoe when I didn’t know how to line things up properly. The bend was almost impossible to see but a new one fixed similar issues you are seeing.

    Where does the hose go?

it attaches to the airbox as stated. It goes to the carb and the vacuum sucks any residual fuel back to the motor and burns it up. Otherwise it would drip fuel into the cowl and make a mess or by chance cause a fire.

Posible oil and water mix in mercruizer sterndrive

I’ve found that the drain screw gaskets will let water in. Replace them at every service with the paper gaskets. I had those yellow one before and they didn’t seal well.

    Mercruiser 3.0 won't throttle up

Is the choke hooked to any springs, Or the heated element? Just a thought this morning. If it's floppy it could be slamming shut when throttling up and loading with fuel.

    Mercruiser 3.0 won't throttle up

Start With the basics. Is there water in the fuel? Are the filters clean? Choke should be open when warmed up. Have good spark? Check the dizzy cap for corrosion. Was it ok the last time you used it and, how long did it sit till you used it now? Is it a points distributer or electronic?

    Won’t Start in the Water

Yes, mark the prop with a dab of paint or a sharpie across the inner hub to the outer hub/blade area. When you put it in the water and try to go but it doesn’t, check those lines you put on the prop. They should still line up, if not it has slipped the hub. as esgwheel said, sometimes his...
