1996 Evinrude 115 fuel hose routing

I have a motor very similar over at my storage facility and might be able to take a look. In the mean time I can say that some motors use those nipples and some don't. Often time there are rubber caps that seal off the ones you don't need and they eventually rot off. Could this be your issue...

    Vacuum line?

Good information. Thanks for the correction. Always good to know stuff and I got to learn something this morning. Good stuff. Here is a more detailed explanation.

    Vacuum line?

Evinrude just rebranded it I believe. As far as I know, Evinrude/johnson never made a fourstroke but sold other brands as its own.

    Vacuum line?

I have this service manual which is close to your motor...(40) Lots of illustrations and if you can describe it better or make a YouTube video I'll be able to analyze it better. Definitely looks fuel related and hopefully someone will come along and answer your question. You could also go...

    1990 XP 150hp Evinrude identification

Do you need it to buy parts or do you need it to be legal in your state? If your confident that it's a 89 or 90 then you should be okay for parts. Others might know more.

1968 evinrude 55 triumph change out hot temp switch

I definitely concur but my uncle sold those and looking at that motor it brings back fun memories. I definitely remember the red bubble light on the dashboard of the glass Tron boats that he sold as well.

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

Yeah, I winged it....my French needs much improvement! And I did forget about the big 3 until you mentioned it, but I don't use mine. I've retired that to wall art!

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

Not everyone knows your real name and I'm at work so I put in the abbreviated version of "crosbyman" Battery wise, you already told me how to do it and it's quite genius really. Now we might want to work on our short term memory! 🥴

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

Yes, everyone on here has these....in fact I have the original 30 volt battery. Tried to recondition it but some goo drip on my finger and now my face is gone! Yes, Jaques (The Cros) has all the neat stuff.

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

Look, we all need to take a big breath. What Mc tool is explaining as you can do lots of things on muffs but you can't do everything. A test tank is great but not everybody has one. I do and I have test props to go in it. If you're talking about a barrel full of water that's not a test tank. We...

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

Muffs are not useless...and, if you have diaphragm damage to the fuel pump that's the test. Best of luck to you, your obviously a thinking man but perhaps in this moment your "overthinking"

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

99.9% chance solve why it's not priming and your cured. I wouldn't even stick the hose back on the carb nipple until fuel comes out everytime you push the key. If it was mine, I would have solved this a long time ago. If you suspect the fuel pump, become the human fuel pump and pump the primer...

J90 MLCRD '84 crossflow--cold water from front of powerhead.

Wow, your old school....like me really. More of a diagram than fiche really and I must say Marineengine.com has a better platform for looking at the parts and pieces. That being said, I still don't have an answer for you but a couple things I want to mention. Almost always, the OEM parts or...

J90 MLCRD '84 crossflow--cold water from front of powerhead.

Didn't watch the video because I don't want to download it...YouTube videos are better. That being said, how are the mating surfaces? Others will have better info I believe.

    Replacing Motor mounts

Agreed. Aren't you a mid West guy? Seems like you were but I believe anyone in a cold climate can increase their boat use if they convert to this.... Enjoy. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CZHK2qmrn/

    Replacing Motor mounts

Agreed, pia job. I didn't really understand what the second guy was going to do. Is that his way of getting the upper side motor mounts without removing the mid section tilt/steer assembly? If so, seems like a hack not worth doing.

    Starter Motor Disengages too soon

The moderator might chime in and mention re-igniting an old post is against the rules. Start a new thread, mention you read an old post and ask your question. 10 year old posts rarely answer back.

87 50HP VRO Evinrude - Could this be my problem?

In a nutshell, yes. Watch online videos....there's many. Than do it once....you will learn even if you do it wrong. I know what scenario your talking about but we're on post 58 or something so I'm not going to back and hunt around....isn't this the thread where you were having starter issues...
