Getting the water out of the block after a sea trial?

Even 25W would work. All you are trying to do is keep i above freezing temps.

    Red engine motor year mystery

That is definitely not the original engine. Original engine had a different raw water pump and V-belts vs your serpentine belt. Original raw water pump was belt driven. Your original engine was a charcoal grey...not black. It's dark but it is not black. Anyone who has actually owned a Volvo of...

drive thump thump or chug chug sound

I am actually selling my boat in the next couple days. I will record the sound if I have a chance before its gone.

    Red engine motor year mystery

Have a picture of the engine? Where is the raw water pump mounted? What makes you think its a Gi-F?

Run away. Find a boat with a Mercruiser or a Volvo drive.

drive thump thump or chug chug sound

I am thinking what you are hearing is normal. Very common for Volvos to get some clatter in the top of the unit when at idle. Mine has had that ever since I owned it since 2002. Goes away when in gear out of the water when there is just the slightest amount of load.

Mercruiser 3.0 reliability and overall maintenance?

Yes...but what I stated is completely accurate. Bayliner and Searay boats are made in the same factory...maybe not the factory you were in, but yes in other factories. I equate Searay with the Maxum boats. Same basic quality as a Bayliner with a little bit of lipstick added.

Getting the water out of the block after a sea trial?

The large hose that goes to the circulating pump bypasses the thermostat. In fact, you won't even get close to putting antifreeze down the thermostat by putting it in the hoses.

Mercruiser 3.0 reliability and overall maintenance?

When did you go through the factory? Sorry...but they were built on the same line. Not hearsay. I would never buy a recently made SeaRay....or Bayliner. I just bought a Cobalt R5 and was looking at the SeaRay SDX series. Not even in the same universe...

drive thump thump or chug chug sound

Well, since the drive line is spinning at that RPM, it would make sense. If your drive was REALLY out of alignment, makes me wonder about the coupler. Any metal dust in the bilge?

Tongue weight, single axle vs tandem

Major thread resurrection because of a forum spammer! Boats also have a different type of load. Since the engine is in the rear, it s very heavy so the trailer axles tend to be further to the rear. Between where the axles are and the center of gravity, the tongue weight can be less and still...

drive thump thump or chug chug sound

10Hz wouldn't be a thump. 10 Hz is around the frequency of the engine RPM.

Mercruiser 3.0 reliability and overall maintenance?

SeaRay took a major hit after Brunswick bought them. They are almost identical quality now. They were even both made in the same factory in Tennessee. That factory may have closed by now.

Mercruiser 3.0 reliability and overall maintenance?

A lot depends on how the boat is taken care of. Sea rays and Bayliners are not the best built boats in the world so they have to be very well taken care of to last.

Mercruiser 3.0 reliability and overall maintenance?

He said 75 KPH...46 MPH. It might do that.

    Frozen Brakes

What brand brakes do you have? You may want to lube the guide pins. I do that every few years on my Kodiaks.

drive thump thump or chug chug sound

I have bought a 2017 Cobalt with only 110 hours on it. I just pulled the drive and it's WAY out of alignment. And it's not an inexpensiveley built boat like a Bayliner or Searay.
