    If it's the Y-pipe you'll get water in the boat when running on muffs. If it's the transom seal/bellows/trim wire it will only leak in the water.

    The problem is that even at 1/2 tank, the area where the sender is located (aft section of the tank) is completely full. The tank empties as much fore-->aft as it does top-->bottom, since it's always angled towards the stern.

    You can swap wires and see if the problem follows the wire. Carb rebuild is pretty easy. Even if you've never done it, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

    Like I said, agree that the immediate issue isn't the flashes (though it may mean the engine isn't performing as well as it could). But how do you explain the tach?

    ? Intermittent flashes mean intermittent spark. Definitely a problem. See if you can tell if you're erratic with the light on the coil wire. If not, your problem is with the cap/rotor/wires. If so you have another problem. Agree though that if the flashing is the same regardless of symptoms then...

    1. Have you tried disconnecting all batteries except engine batteries? 2. Have you been able to get screenshots of the voltages when the fault isn't present? 3. Was this problem there on the sea trial or did it show up after you got the boat?

    I thinklutely! It was sitting in the driveway for a week. I think spec is ⅛"or so. But whatever works best for you. Mine doesn't need much if any choke in the 90' weather that I'm usually in, so I dial in a bit more so that it will open fully earlier

    Didn't sound like that's where the troubleshooting led... You never got a spark by tapping the wire or from that last post you don't perform the test correctly.

    Op switch shouldn't affect cranking. Try wiggling the throttle while you crank (possible neutral safety switch). Next measure voltage at the small yellow/red wire on the starter solenoid while trying to crank... Rather than reinvent the wheel, go through this guide...

    There are a ton of module part numbers that I found, though don't see them broken down by outdrive. Same with wiring diagrams. Which ones are you looking at? And green still shouldn't be grounded, should be the same just without the SIS leg, only from module to distributor.
