    boat motor oil does not get the usual contaminates that automotive uses get so filter will last longer. oil change is important because the oil looses viscosity . why not do the fear oil , its not that much extra work.

    iv always used the head bolts if they are not rusted , vortec OEM are not TTY . run them on the wire wheel to clean off old sealant and chase all the threads in the engine block . use a good HT bolt sealant .

    be careful with entry angle , my old jet boat had a very low bunk set up as you can with a jet drive. problem was on some steeper beach launching the keel would hit the center roller quite hard and lift the boat a good 4 inches on some launch and retrieval.
