    Fuel question(s)

Those are additives for storage, if fuel is used within three months stabilizer is not needed. However, I use it regularly, small amount added with each fillup. I also use Lucas fuel treatment every so often, helps keep idle smooth. I definetly add some type of stabilizer late in fall to be...

Stupid question…… garboard drain plug size

In my younger days when these types of plugs were more popular, we added a " handle" of some sort to help with tightening or loosening. Often drilled a small hole thru the raised hex and slipped a pin thru for extra grip. In a couple of my old leaky row boats you need to get that plug in or out...

    Fuel question(s)

If unsure, just pump out the tank and examine the fuel. You should be able to tell if any water is in the fuel. I bought a small 12v electric pump just for that purpose, less than 20 bucks total. I can drain any tank and check the fuel, not hard to see if fuel is bad. Once you know the tank...

Ed's defiantly have their place , especially for local commuters. However they are advertised as the cure all for peoples transportation needs. Anyone that has gone on a lengthy vacation finds them less than ideal, to say the least.. I do a lot of towing, the EV really falls down there. Then...

Whats the deal with "High Milage" conventional and synthetic motor oils???/

According to a friend that works at an oil refining company, a small amount of additive is added to high mileage oils that are supposed to make seals swell and slow down/eliminate leaks and extra detergents to help clean.

Did I flood it, did I mis use the remote, was it old fuel, or all of the above?

Just a suggestion as it won't fire. I have saw plugs that look new, but do to fuel fouling make a weak spark. I use center fire plugs, no gapping needed.

    1975 Aristocraft w/ 120 no start

Because all the wood is buried inside the fiberglass. Over all these years, water has seeped into and thru the fiberglass and rotted the wood inside. Contrary to popular belief, fiberglass is not waterproof, except on the outside where the gelcoat seals it. Inside the boat, water will seep...

Did I flood it, did I mis use the remote, was it old fuel, or all of the above?

There are supposed to be drain screws on the bottom of the fuel bowls under the carb, but I have not looked for them on mine. I usually pull the spark plugs and crank it over a few times and most seems to evaporate at least when mine flooded. Didn't have a single start problem last summer, once...
