    1998 Mercruiser 3.0l high idle

This is the first you mention this. Your original post makes it sound as if the engine runs at 1000 rpm or so at idle and you can't adjust lower. No mention of the engine stalling/choking out. Try manually closing the choke when you're adjusting lower than 1000 rpm. If you can get it to idle...

Alpha One Gen 2 impeller delete question

I have no idea, I only mentioned what I did because it's what I'm familiar with. If I were curious I'd contact whoever designed the system you have and ask them about their opinion/recommendations

Alpha One Gen 2 impeller delete question

Mercury factory closed cooling alpha set up came with an engine mounted, belt driven sea water pump. Same as a bravo/mie setup. Reason was the pump in the drive could not supply enough sea water flow to the heat exchanger to adequately cool the coolant. They left the drive pump intact but...

    Water in 4 cylinders

The damage is done, probably will be very obvious when you do a compression test. At this point it doesn't matter if the engine is warm or cold for the test

Need Help on 5.8fsi Couple of Issues

I'd check for voltage loss at one or both fuel pumps. If okay then move onto ignition

    1998 Mercruiser 3.0l high idle

No worries In that case first guess would be a vacuum leak, carb base gasket correct/sound?

1991 Volvo Penta 570A - high voltage on pos terminal of ignition coil

Possible you bought the wrong style coil. If the system worked before you replaced the coil and it says "electronic ignition" on the old coil most likely you need a coil that is internally resisted and requires battery voltage at the primary (+) to operate accordingly

    1998 Mercruiser 3.0l high idle

You mentioned this in your original post. You also mentioned you still have the throttle cable attached. You must remove the cable to perform the adjustments correctly, as I stated earlier

    1998 Mercruiser 3.0l high idle

Idle speed and idle/air mix should be adjusted at normal operating temperature with the throttle cable disconnected. Once you have achieved proper speed and idle/air mixture, adjust the cable to match the anchor and throttle arm stud with a bit of preload against the throttle arm stud

    1998 Mercruiser 3.0l high idle

Are you performing these adjustments with the throttle cable attached?

2002 Volvo penta Gxi 5.0 beeping issue

A key cycle clears all active faults. When you are hearing the beeping that means the fault is active (currently happening). When the fault is no longer active due to threshold no longer exceeded or shutting the engine off/ key cycle the fault is then stored for later information and is no...

    Water in 4 cylinders

Would think you have a serious problem now, the result of what has been happening for a bit. Guess is one manifold/riser had failed allowing water into the combustion chamber. Over time this destroys your valve(s) first. Probably got to the point where multiple cylinders were affected and major...

Did you reinstall all the hardware correctly?

Pics of my prop hubs and gear oil. First time questions.

Props look fine to me, just use additional grease where the corrosion is located. May pull props during the season to inspect/regrease if it worries you. Gear oil looks normal, if the level before draining was good I would not recommend pressure testing the drive, you do not have a leak. If the...

My friend has a mercuriser 140, difficult to start

Yes, those engines are quite simple in their operation. First suggestion for difficult starting other than following the correct procedures for starting a marine engine would be a tune up

2002 Volvo penta Gxi 5.0 beeping issue

There is an active fault when the beeping occurs. You must use the correct scan equipment to verify which fault is active plus investigate any/all freeze frame (stored/inactive) faults and data. WAG based on info provided is cooling temp related

Have you verified the timing is advancing properly with rpm increase?

Mercruiser 3.0 runs fine for a bit, then dies and won't restart for a while

Check contents of/replace fuel fliter(s). You mentioned new coil, what about plugs, wires, cap/rotor, check/set timing and idle? Obviously heat related so first inclination would be fuel supply. Inspect from tank to carb. Fuel pressure and vacuum, vent line, supply line, filters, fittings, anti...

7.4mpi just started running rough and with gas coming out exhaust

The issue you are having ime has never been a fuel pump issue, pressure yes. In most cases the solution is a regulator. There have been a few changes to the design of the fuel supply system for 7.4L MPI engines. Most have at least two regulators. You need to check fuel pressure with and without...
