Trim Function for Yamaha 90 Four Stroke

Well in all fairness, the F90 has only used a relay assembly (two integrated into one unit) since 2005.

He seems to have forgotten the first rule of holes. When you find yourself in one, stop digging.

Trim Function for Yamaha 90 Four Stroke

I am not trying to tell anyone to do anything. I was only trying to help the OP determine where the core problem resided. Trying to separate the trim tilt pump motor from the trim tilt relay from the trim tilt switches from possibly a power supply issue. Where he goes from there is up to him...

Trim Function for Yamaha 90 Four Stroke

I am failing to see the connection between verifying that a part cannot perform its function and replacing said part, with "throwing parts at a problem".

Trim Function for Yamaha 90 Four Stroke

Generally it is easiest and fastest to remove the complete assembly from the motor. Then take it to a bench to remove the pump motor. Either replace the motor with a new one (OEM or aftermarket) or open the pump motor up to see what may be the problem. Could be the brushes, the over...

Trim Function for Yamaha 90 Four Stroke

OP seemed to be trying to differentiate between the relay being faulty or the pump motor being faulty. The test above confirms that the pump motor is faulty or not. It does not indicate where a fault is within the pump motor. That is the subject of further trouble shooting. Someone that is not...

Trim Function for Yamaha 90 Four Stroke

If you have disconnected the PTT pump motor power feed wires at the relay, and applied battery power to the leads, and the pump motor does not run, that is a pretty darn good indication that it is the pump motor that is at fault.

2006 Yamaha 25 hp 2 stroke outboard motor

There is no part number. There is only a model identity. And a production date. Month/year. And each model has an identification code. Part of which as a serial number. The parts that comprise the model do have part numbers.

The gasket on a Racor filter assembly comes to mind. This may be intentional insofar as the swollen...

    Yamaha RPM Guage

It is most difficult for me to try and keep up with the many Yamaha differences. Can't imagine throwing Mercury and Evinrude into the mix.

In a V150TLRC model the tachometer signal does not come from the voltage regulator. It comes from the CDI assembly. Via a green wire. That crosses several connectors before it makes it way to the tachometer. I would disconnect, inspect and reconnect all of the applicable connectors. See if...

    Mercury / mariner - 60hp - 2 stroke - 1989 manual

Some early Mariners were made by Yamaha. I was looking for the serial and some more information. What Yamaha calls the primary identification. Take a look at the CDI assembly and the carburetors and let me know what markings you see on them. For instance, the CDI assembly might have a 6H3 11 on...
