    Mercruiser 6.2 repower/finding an engine

I believe the 383 is just a remanufactured 377, given a .030” overbore. I cant see needing to reflash the ecu for this. Try michigan motorz i belive they sell reman and new base engines

    no start

I would find the factory wiring diagram for your engine serial number and see if it was there or not. Not sure what year as I have had older boats that I don't think had this fuse, so yours may not have had it at the factory. If it wasn't there originally I wouldn't add it rather focus on...

    no start

Yes you should see it on the starter lug but it is not there this is what one looks like

    no start

There is no 90 a fuse on yours - it would be a square cube (3/4"x3/4") on the starter lug between the bat cable and orange cable from alternator. Not sure if your engine originally didn't have one or someone took it off. Start with the simple stuff like the cable mentioned. Yes you can jump...

Mercruiser Alpha 1 - backfired and died out on the water ( Its electrical 100% ) - need basic troubleshooting steps,, how do i check charging system?

So this is a 3.7 or 470 with a stator and voltage regulator? Would suspect stator or more likely regulator issues in which case given NLA nature of these parts would do an alternator conversion and replace the battery. Would target your trouble shooting around the odd ball charging system...

    Arcadia/Traverse Suitability?

Base Acadia is 1000 lbs but it is 4k with the towing package. How short a distance? I'll play the other side of the fence as I have towed my similar sized 2004 Sea Ray 200 Sport 2 miles to the ramp and 15 miles to the barn with my '06 Highlander (3500 lbs capacity) and my 2016 highlander...

Boat bogs down after 30-90 minutes

Rust on valve stem due to leaking exhaust manifolds or risers is one possibility. Would tear the head down and inspect the exhaust for signs of water intrusion. Did the valve hit the piston? What does spark plug look like ? Was engine previously rebuilt and improperly machined?

    oil pan SBC

https://www.michiganmotorz.com/products/marine-parts-accessories/oil-system-components/easy-oil-drain-kits I use one of these drain hoses and hook that up to my oil extractor (Mytvac) works great. Seems to get better flow than up the dipstick. If you have an OEM dipstick with the garden hose...

2011 Mer 4.3 inboard on Tahoe Q5i - engine bogging down

The carb number is stamped in the float bowl this is 100% fool proof way to get correct kit. Since the mercarb uses a foam/plastic float would get a replacement for it as they can be brittle when taking apart the carb. Would also make sure the power valve spring is working smooth. Would think...

    Power Steering fluid question

Ive always used ATF, but the power steering/ tilt fluid will work fine too.a non detergent straight weight motor oil, jack oil etc will all work, is there fluid in there now ? If red it is atf, if clear like oil use the ps/ tilt fluid . you can always drain out what is in there and use what...

2011 Mer 4.3 inboard on Tahoe Q5i - engine bogging down

it is not hard, just requires cleaning and attention to detail. You likely have a mercarb at Mikes carb parts they have good quality kits and instructional videos. I use a harbor freight ultrasonic cleaner for the parts. Before you tear into it rule out fuel flow restrictions and make sure the...

2011 Mer 4.3 inboard on Tahoe Q5i - engine bogging down

Would be looking for anything restricting fuel flow like the antiphon valve, if you can measure fuel pressure at that rpm would be good. Would think you may be looking at a carb rebuild.

2011 Mer 4.3 inboard on Tahoe Q5i - engine bogging down

carbureted or fuel injected? Have a engine serial number. Does it eventually recover or doesnt go past 25 mph? What did the contents of the fuel filter look like start with some basics - engine compression. check ignition timing including total advance test strength of ignition with spark...

Power steering return line keeps blowing at cooler 95' 7.4 Bravo1

So it hasn't blown since you replaced it completely? If it hasn't yes I would blame it degradation of the hose. In hydraulics except in a pinch we never put a new end on an old hose for that reason. Inside of hose may have broken down restricting flow to where pressure builds up

knock sensor, brass Y-fitting for both the sensor and drain plug Cant find a part number

Man that is salty for what amounts to a 1/4" npt wye. You could order stainless pipe fittings from a place like mcmaster carr for a few bucks less

    3.0LX Mercruiser always running cold

The bog is probably more carb rebuild related. You can see if it goes away after the thermostat.

2007 Merc 5.0 TKS stalled at speed, had to be towed

Take the wiring harness off the switch (down above oil filter) and stick a jumper wire in the harness plug to jump across the two wire terminals. I keep a couple of short sections of wire for just this purpose in my tool kit on the boat.
