    did you put B+12v directly on the starter ?? to confirm it as faulty ?? or do you just have a solenoid/connection/start key issue.

    try to fix the dying issue first ....pumping water means impeller , missing impeller key water tube obstructions , internal passages, plugged up pee hose etc.... best to get your engine running more than 60 seconds. if you think it dies from being HOT.... then work the cooling...

    Compression is fequently low 65-75psi but they run good as fisherman's engine. Do measure it before doing big expenses.

    plug one side (OUT) pump some air ... few PSI IN side.... spray soapy water all over look for bubbles. if you see bubbles it is leaking

    ¸that is a lot of water.....if it came from bad fuel.... good.... just use clean fuel but VST's on modern ETEC anyway.... are also used to cool the fuel. On ETECs the fuel is used to cool injectors and it in turn gets cooled by the VST coil . so make certain your VST water cooling...
