    Cards for tilt/trim sensors

Pretty sure these have been NLA for years--only sold as a sealed unit now.

    Going electric vs marinas

Unfortunately all true. This is going to be a case where government is forced to get involved and everyone will whine about it. In general, pollution is a cost that should be borne by manufacturers in many sectors--it carries a tangible financial cost.

    Going electric vs marinas

If you're depending on a jerry can of gas to get home, you're doing it wrong.

Buying a used boat anxiety-talk me down.

My thoughts: My boat is 35 years old. Yes, I've done a lot of work to it. Worst was replacing the floor--stringers were still solid. Transom has had a few areas of minor rot that I've addressed, but would have become an issue. I keep it in the water moored for 60+ days a year. I have seen the...

    No spark possibly coil?

That whole mess looks pretty corroded. I'd start by cleaning all your connections. Guessing a lot of other connections look like that as well.

Starting a long sitting, 2003 Mercruiser 3.0 alpha one, with a gen 2 sterndrive.

You may have 3 fuel filters. One at the fuel pump, one at the carb inlet, and a fuel/water canister. Change all 3 (and add a fuel/water filter if you don't have one).

    Repowering 97 crownline. Best options?

I did both of these things. Still not trivial to get the hose out through the plug, but much easier/faster/more complete than sucking it up, and the filter would have been damn near impossible to get at. Super cheap and easy to do with the motor out.

    Crazy 60's or 70's 2 seater CO-V-CAT

My skiff hits 29 mph with a 25 hp. Weighs about 300# + 115# for the motor. Guessing that you could expect similar numbers.

Washing interior with boat in slip/water?

All detergents work like that (except that the oil will go to the top when the soap degrades).

    fuel pump frustration

Any universal *MARINE* pump carb rated (~5 psi) should be fine. I went with a carter, and none of them put out the correct pressure FWIW (went through 3 of them)

    Installing a new 4.3 Mercruiser

Pull the drive first, check gimbal bearing. Some of the alignment tools come with a bearing installer as well, might be worth buying.

    Installing a new 4.3 Mercruiser

Don't know how the hell you got it out, but you absolutely need to remove the lower unit. For many reasons, including engine alignment, inspection, and of course just installation.

    Help with charging system?

Didn't want to quote a post that you deleted, but you mentioned ignoring sense and excite--I'd appreciate you expanding on that. Since my new alternator charged briefly without the excite wire hooked up, I'm wondering if the real point of it is to power the idiot light in a car...
