    carpet

A light color. There are a whole lot of indoor/outdoor carpets avail. any will work. I would think a low nap would be coolest, in light blue, beige or teal, which are good colors for boats. Of course light colors show dirt more than dark. However, I/O carpets are real tough and will stand up...

    Winterizing suzuki df25a?

I use boat trailer wheel bearing grease for everything, since I boat in salt water. It is overkill for anything not wheel bearings, but it is maybe a $1 more for a cartridge, and I only need one grease gun.

    Winterizing suzuki df25a?

Grease the steering and tilt. Usually there are some zerk fittings. I use some corrosion guard on the block to keep any rust at bay.

    Leaf springs replacement

You also need some sort of bracket to hold 'em to the frame, plus the 5 hole plate and new ubolts to hold 'em to the axle, The bracket needs to have the eyes in the right place. It looks to be held on by the fender bolts. I do not think that is the right thing, unless the bracket is angle...

Thoughts on Sierra carb rebuild kits

Sierra brand works fine. I have used them many time w/o issue. I have found in one (one) occasion on one parts site, that my Johnny 60*V6 engine had the wrong kits listed, along with the correct kits, for that application. The wrong kits had one wrong gasket. It therefore pays to doublecheck...

Overheating at idle, cool as a cucumber at speed

Mercury impellers can get a bit of damage on their bottoms. This will cause them to overheat at idle and still run cool at speed. You might check it for that. If so, replace impeller, wearplate and 2 gaskets.
