Where to pass the fuel filling hose and vent fuel hose?

Run the vent and fill hoses directly to the stern. Then route them to one side of the transom. The vent should go straight out the transom and the filler up thru the cap.

Anyone know of MOSFET Rec/Reg installed on an outboard?

Looks pretty good. The original was fastened to the cooling water jacket to help keep it cool. I would recommend the same.

    Fuel Filter??

Those older carb models had a small cylinder-shaped paper filter in the fuel connection to the carb, plus a porous filter stone on top of the mechanical fuel pump. Did you replace those? Antisiphon valve is another likely candidate. Also, on my'88 SeaRay, the fuel tank pickup had a filter...

    Viibration

There was a rubber pad-type product that you would put over the transom, and then clamp the motor over it. It was supposed to reduce vibration. It was only for small HP OB's, like yours. Not sure of the name.

Anyone know of MOSFET Rec/Reg installed on an outboard?

Is it potted? If not it may not hold up to the corrosion inherent to the environment.

Anyone know of MOSFET Rec/Reg installed on an outboard?

You can tee off the yellow wire for the tachometer. Does that VR have the capacity for the charging system of your motor. You should make sure, I know the later models have dual 20A VRs. I think the older models were less amperage, although some were single 40A VRs..

    Upgrading, or downgrading?

That sterndrive will get you about 42MPH, wide open. It will drag it's butt to get on plane compared to your OB engine. Also, the cockpit size difference between a 19 footer with a sterndrive (and doghouse), and an 18 footer with an OB, is nothing. Actually the 19 footer maybe a bit more...

    Glastron bow fuel tank

Does it have a water separator? If yes, and it is not full, it is very difficult to get it filled via the primer bulb. Remove it and fill it with fuel and install it. The fuel lines should easily fill with fuel. If not, something i clogged, likely the antisiphon valve, if you even have one.

Triggers in those distributors are replaceable. You must replace the whole housing. CDI electronics makes them, I believe. Ditto on the rotors.

    1976 MERC 650

Choke solenoids are 5A or so. Starter solenoids are about the same. Starters can be 150-200A or even more. Starter cables are never fused.

    1976 MERC 650

There was no fuse on the battery on motors of that era. Check the insulation on the engine harness and boat harness. If that is not it, you will need to open up the MerControl and see if any wires are touching and rubbed raw.

Air leak in fuel pump? Evinrude '94 E150EXERV

That motor has a fuel pump and a vapor pump. I would check/rebuild the vapor pump. It is located on top of the vapor separator. Also, check the main gasoline strainer. It should have an oring and gasket to seal it. She will suck air from there if those are not working.

    Old Airguide "Sea Speed Tachometer.

How many wires on the tach? Those oldies used the switchbox (brown terminal with mercury switch) to power them, with 2 wires. I suspect, that even if you have such a terminal on your 4 cylinder (depends on the year, likely motor needs to be older than 1975), you will only get 2/3 of the...

1/4" crown staples for bunk carpeting?

Gee, I would think that 2 1/4" staples with their four legs will have more holding power than 1 1/2 staple with its two legs. Also, aren't you stapling on the back side of the bunk? The pull from there will be sideways. Again the two staples will hold better.

    Winterize

Easy stuff. Stabilize fuel. Run motor on flusher for a few minutes. fog all 6 carbs until you see some smoke and turn engine off. Let water drain. Change gear oil and use new gaskets. Spray powerhead with anti corrosion stuff. Clean and grease steering rod and motor zerks. Install hood...

    1976 MERC 650

Merc's of that age didn't have fuses. It begs the question of what else was changed. Original wiring engine harnesses of that age usually have failing insulation by now. The most likely place for a wire to rub raw and short is inside the MerControl. You might start there.

1/4" crown staples for bunk carpeting?

Gee, put two in line with each other just touching. Stainless is fine.

U-Joint Bellows replacement on Alpha 1 gen 1

I followed the service manual exactly and had no luck with that job. I ended up pushing the bellows onto the transom plate with a dull tire iron. Make sure the clamps go on exactly where they were originally.
