Head bolts are steel.------Block and cylinder head are aluminum.-----Aluminum expands at twice the rate of steel.-----Therefor bolt torque needs to be checked on occasion.----Very few are aware of the concept.

It is a crude mechanical device to prevent you from starting the motor with throttle advanced too far.----A simple device that you can examine / fix by looking at it.----Much simpler to trouble shoot than hidden electronic switches.----Yes , you can take it off and throw it away.

Could be the oil that is mixed with the gasoline.------Some fuel mixture goes right through the motor.----It does not get compressed .----It is not burned.----It is wasted and ends up going out with exhaust.
