Nice. I keep a spare sensor and cap and rotor in my spares kit on the boat... I think it ensure you never have to use them...

Concerned about Hull Config / Cramped Engine Bay

That's not terrible, I wouldn't let it stop me if the rest of the boat was good. I does have the remote oil filter. Bill issues are oil change and drain spots for manifolds and block during winterization. I have a similar sized sea ray with a bench across the back vs the jump seats. That...

Can You Make Up For Different Gear Ratio With a Different Pitch Prop?

Yes and no . Yes you can prop around some drive ratio difference, just not all drive ratio differences. I repowered a 4.3 to a 5.0, by the book I should have replaced the 1.81 drive with a 1.62 ratio. I kept the 1.81 and went up in pitch from a 19" to 21 works perfectly hit 4900 rpm at WOT...

    Squeezing more from 5.0L 220hp

If you have a mercarb with the fuel inlet on the left side when you face the carb and your existing line may work. When I did a 4.3/mercarb to 5.0 /eddelbrock repower I used the the pump off the 4.3 and the existing fuel line (both 3/8" flare). As seen in ricks photo it has a short flex...

95 Mercruiser 4.3 water in oil

Yes these often get removed but are there to keep water out of the flame arrestor and off the distributor... This would have likely helped if not prevented the issue. You can find them on ebay for $50-100

Is My Impeller Bad? Mercruiser 228

no idea what you are talking about do not use rubber parts. Many folks on here have filled manifolds with acetone because it wicks through cracks in manifolds more so than water, is a commonly used leak test for manfoolds

Can I install a newer outdrive?

Agreed, just need to be careful of metal getting into lower. Ideally you would disassemble both. I money is no issue go buy an SEI complete drive and go boating instead of wrenching .

Is My Impeller Bad? Mercruiser 228

Yeah always see folks do that before they pressure test You are down to block or head crack, head gasket , or exhaust manifold/ elbow. Given it got hot I would be leaning towards head gasket. Would replace heads and gaskets after inspecting for cracks, then pressure test the long block...

Sharing fresh water intake from one engine to a second engine

Are you using OEM merc impellers or aftermarket ? I know the gen one impellers don’t last as long but I was getting at least 5-6 years on mine back in the day. If you have a pic of you boat post it I’m on my second sea Ray and always liked the Pachengas

Sharing fresh water intake from one engine to a second engine

You’re doing a lot of thinking about a work around…. but not starting with the basics replace impellers and housings with oem units, backflush to make sure any impeller pieces are not blocking anything, inspect your exhaust manifolds and elbows, make sure thermostats are in good shape and you...
