    Can Rollers Damage the hull?

I would tend to agree, from those I know that own them, the ride might be better but issues developed with age. They are more expensive to repair/replace when the time comes.

2011 Mercury four stroke 8HP upgrade?

Oops...guess I should have looked more closely, now I see yours is a four stroke. To the best of my knowledge the carb trick only works on two stroke engines, not four stroke.

    1996 50 hp adjustment question

Dont try to fix something until you know for sure there is a problem!!! As mentioned run it for a while, add a good dose of sea foam in the fuel to clean things out. Replace that impellor and take it for a shake down cruise

50HP evintude tiller fuel connector question

Owned two of them, neither worked right. My marine mechanics ( multiple) have never trusted them. Excessive warranty claims on the VRO system is one of the things that bankrupted OMC. All my marine folks recomend the Mercury oil injection system over the VRO.

    Can Rollers Damage the hull?

Yep....if you have enough rollers you wont have a problem. My 22' Islander (aluminum) has set on a roller trailer since new in 1983 and still to this day. No dents or humps in the hull !!

    1995 Mercury 25hp 2 stroke issues

Not really, most two strokes will start to load up after long periods of idle, just there nature...this is why folks that troll use a small kicker motor, to keep the big motor from loading up!! Most mfgrs will recomend going one range hotter for long periods of idle !! Your plugs are wet...

    Registration

Only if that sticker has some numbers on it. Some states have stickers that have identity numbers on the sticker itself, which might be able to trace back to the boat. Just a thought.....

    cockpit enclosure

Something else to consider....look for guys/groups that are into old cars and customizing...they always have a connection to someone that has a sewing machine to remake there interiors. I have had these guys make me boat stuff over the winter when they are slow. Good work and much cheaper than...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Neither does this 72 yr old guy, besides I needed to downsize my boat anyway as I mostly go by myself due to wifes health issues. Dropped down to a 16' with a 40hp outboard....so....much easier to maintain !!!! However ..there are days I wish I had my big boat back!!

Maybe my turn for new boat time

With all the fancy electronics in todays motors, the days of fixing it yourself are over....you will need to buy a diagnostic machine for the simplest of fixes. Then there is the cost....wow, they are not cheap !! Most all of todays motors are well made and fairly trouble free, I woukdn't be...

    My old Motor

I really like number 3....nakes a lot of sense!! We also planned to have some fun, bought a motorhome, had a nice boat, started to travel. Wifes hips went bad, gad both replaced, then I had a heart attack, but was lucky, no damage, a quick triple bypass and back on the road in 12 weeks. Then...

    My old Motor

From one old fart to another, I am the same way...dont care to fix things anymore. However, my late 70's to early 90's motors gave been very trouble free. My ladt few outboards have started right up after a long winters nap. I do maintain my fuels condition for storage, and a quick treatment of...

is a 60hp outboard too small for this boat

I spent over 6 months searching for used outfits that were still owned by original owners. Also wanted boats that were stored inside. Yep....long hard search, had to drive 200 miles, but found what I wanted, in near mint condition !! New are priced out of site....I could go thru 3-4 used...

    My old Motor

Not a fan of these new all electronic motors....when they run they are great, byt when an issue comes up, they can be quite costly to repair !! Gotta be a rocket scientist to figure out the problem. I will gladly take the older models which are much easier to problem solve and repairs while not...
