    Re-carpeting over old carpet.

Good to hear, but why glue the carpet down ?? On the boats I have added carpet to, I just stretched it out and stappled it in place, on ocassion I might add a small dab of glue on areas hard to hold down. Glue can be such a mess to remove as you are finding out.

Locking outboard while boat is on the trailer

Yep, add a lock to slow them down, add a secret security camera so you can get their picture, and add the security tag so you can get it back......or take it in your garage/ house so it cant be stolen..honestly...I would enjoy catching them stealing it..!!!

    Viibration

Dont let it idle, fast idle and up, mine is reasonably smooth. Can take your hand off the tiller and it will stay straight. At dead slow idle there is to much time between strokes, bring upbthe speed and you will be good. If your motor is rough at fast idle, then it needs some work !

    Tube with 25hp on a 14' tinny

My father had a 16' Lyman with a 35 hp johnson and we pulled two on skies many times ! And we had an observer as well as a driver!! I know the Holiday is a bit heavier than most aluminum boats of that length but, with the right setup it should pull a small riding toy. Your motor must be...

    Bilge issue

Depends on the type of bilge pump you have, if not self priming then no loop, but if you have a self priming pump then a loop closer to the outlet..reason for the upper loop is to keep spray water from outside, going into the bilge. On a non self priming pump, that loop can create an air lock...

Fix gel coat or use keel guard

Be aware the fiberglass is waterproof only when a surface coating like gelcoat covers it....without a gelcoat cover, you glass could leak, even though it would be small, could still cause issues down the road. Repair the gelcoat then add your keel gard for best results

    Tighten steering

On the older motors I have owned, there was a screw with a spring wrapped around it on the side of the leg below the cowling. Slightly tightening that screw would tighten the steering effort needed. Many had a knurled head on the screw so fingers could be used, but it wasnt easy. I owned a 56...

    Blue Fin Boat Question

As with any boat...how it was cared for is the most important consideration, not the name plate !! In my 60 years of owning boats, I have had two glass boats, never again, fragile, rot issues, heavy, but they do ride nice....aluminum boats are light so less hp is needed, much easier to care for...

ATV and moving boat around on stone

Not saying it cant be done, it is not going to be within the atv specs by any means! I sed my SxS to pull my grandaughter out of a ditch and my daughter out of a snowbank. It worked well but was hard on the drive train ( cvt belt) I would not recomend doing it on a regular basis. The poster...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

It also depends on your tires, if you have good tires that are rated for wet surfaces, they can make a big difference !!! Son in law had a Ram pickup with run of the mill tires and we see alot of algea on our concrete ramps. His tires were like being on ice. Replaced them with wet surface...
