    Engine bay blower question

On my Islander, my fuel tank was well forward so I added a squeeze ball in the fuel line to prime the line and not have to crank the engine for long periods of time. Before pulling out of my barn, I always squeezed the ball and checked for fuel vapors before heading to the ramp. When backing...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

I also only boat in fresh water along the shores of Lake Erie in NW Ohio, with algea and moss slime our ramps are very slick, almost like being on ice. Unfortunately our ramps are not as steep as they need to be, so backing in deeper is required unless you have a 24' or longer boat.

Or make up one from plexiglass and glue it together....again why not a flat piece of plastic, the inset is not really needed but can be added if you want

    Sourcing interior parts

From the looks in the pic, not sure the 90 degree angle is needed, just cut a piece of plastic into a rectangle and mount the plug with a water proof cap and be on your way. My TM plug has a cover that keeps water/ spray off the plug. Or, you could buy a small hatch to mount on a rectangular...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

For metal tanks that have a lot of rust, there is a coating that can be used to coat the inside of the tank (after a thorough cleaning) that coats and seals the tank inside!! Many motorcycle guys use it on older restorations. Old metal tanks can usually be restored with some time and effort...

    Trapped air after filter change

Or you can add a squeeze ball like I did to help purge any air out of the line and help get fuel to carb quicker on a long fuel line run like I had.

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Also have to remember that bavk in the 60-70's most ramps were not finnished concrete or grated steel like they are now. When ramps were gravel I also had a 61 Comet 6 cylinder that hauled my 15' lyman up and down a ramp with no issues...then in late 70 and 80's they started using concrete and...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Have metal tanks back from the 50's with no rust. My trick was to keep a little 2 stroke oil mixed with gas in each tank and slosh it around every so often. When the fuel begins to stink change it out for fresh. My old tanks are more collectors and conversation pieces but with new gaskets...

The plug itself should not ve a problem, however the black plastic mounting might very well be specific to that boat.

    Glastron bow fuel tank

Did a lot of bulb squeezing !! I did find that a slow thorough squeeze moved far more fuel than short quick squeezes. Also check for air leaks, any tiney little air leak/ hole will slow movement of fuel in the line. Make sure line and bulb are in top condition!!

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Shoe goo was the original name, it has been refered to as " Goop" adhesive and sealant for many years. There are many types such as marine, electrical, household etc, but I believe they are all the same product just different labels on the tube. I have used it below the waterline with sucess...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Never considered hot melt glue impervious to gasoline...there are sealants that are...I believe " goop" is supposed to resistant to gas...however I would want to be sure before trusting it on my fuel tank..!!!!

OMG - I got an oversized load permit !!!

Backup camera in my Jeep is great for aligning the trailer hitch as well, except the dotted line covers the hitch ball making it hard to see....the camera on the motorhome is right at the top near the roof, much better placement there as you can see the hitch ball, but also over the top of the...

    towing capacity question

The TV ads make all kinds of claims about their pick up's being able to tow 12k to 15k lbs capacity and up. If they say it on TV it must be true !!!

What ever it is...it makes me very happy !!! The previous owner told me stories of his great fuel economy, but I just passed them off, ....but, seeing is believing....I will take it....

    How much trim?

If your worried, just move everyone far forward so there is little weight in the stern, you would be surprised how much that raises that outdrive !!! I did that on my Islander many times and could run in 18" of water without extreme tilting of my outdrive.

OMG - I got an oversized load permit !!!

Had a backup camera on my motorhome that could be turned on at any time. Great for pulling a trailer to check on how it is towing as well as backing the big rig. These portable cameras have lots of uses !!

    towing capacity question

Just going back and forth to the local ramp, or long haul serious towing ??? If within towing specs, a 3/4 T should be fine for part time towing, but if long haul serious over the road towing, that will be hard on your 3/4 T truck..
