    Winterize boat

Doesn’t matter......if the boat has been in the water the lower unit oil needs at a minimum, to checked for moisture. Best just to change it and start anew. I start using stabilizer in the fuel once it starts getting cold. Never know when old man weather will shut me down till Spring

which bilge pump do i need with a manual / auto switch

“Auto” simply switches control from the switch (manual) to a float switch of some kind. Pick your poison....All switches eventually fail. Do you change the switch ($$) or the pump ($$$$)?

Is Vinegar Good for Desalinating Purposes ?

We clean aluminum cooling jackets used in critical industrial applications all the time with great success. Much smaller, more complicated coolant passages than found on any outboard. You're dissolving (neutralizing) the compounds via ionic exchange. Simply soaking isn't going to cut it. The...

    Drain hose shinkage?

I’ve specified and designed more hose assembles than I care to remember over the years. Most failures are age, load, installation or application issues. From my experience quality hoses have very little to no shrinkage at all. Double clamped hoses don’t come off... at least on fittings...

Sounds like you need six carb rebuild kits and a set of throttle body gaskets. Throttle bodies need to be removed and cleaned as well Also do a through inspection of the carb bodies and bowls. Had idle issues with mine that turned out to be a hair line crack in the carb bodies. Not visually...

    Run Carb Dry or Not.-

Mid-Atlantic coast Keep 150 gallons of both diesel and E10 on property (275 gallon tanks) year round for use around the farm. Both tanks get treated when filled. Roughly once every 10 months. No problems with either in the 20+ years with the exception of the time I forgot to add Cetane to the...

    Scotch Guard on Sunbrella

Great stuff for boots but does not contain a UV inhibitor Used the stuff on my previous boat with a canvas enclosure. Worked well on canvas but not sure I would use a kerosene based product on Sunbrella
