Should I attempt the (to) lengthen the exterior shift cable on the motor?
...? disconnect that shift cable and test the motor on it's own
if ok then mess with the shifter cable adjustments
The only way to get rid of an urge is to give in to it ... :-) they say !
Congrats oldies are great but nothing like a new OB and the kids will love it.
modern coils have a screw like HV pin on the coils... make certain you screw in the new plug wires the fulll depth of the screw pin itself about .5 inch deep . apply a dab of dielectric grease and slide the "rubber sock" over the coil plug boot to either primaty wires you...
agree for the 4hp yet the parts place.... shows most 4hp come with the usual square pumps the little 3.3 H models from Hong Kong have top tanks .
I recently worked on a HK version (broken side panel NLA)
waiting for Aussieken reply on mdl #
btw do not discard the little rubber slide on socks at the High voltage pins on the coils ... reuse them . lots of utubes & Leroys on rebuilding these ignitions ..coils, points, condensers

Hong Kong made 3.3hp with tank or 4hp ??? what is your model # most 4hp seems to have a pump / ext. tank already
whereas the 3.3hp is e/w an integral tank
remove the water tube from the lower end (pump grommet)
with the LU out take a flashlight and look up the into the engine and try to insert the water tube in the PH (put some grease on the tube to aid insertion in the top ) rotate the tube to line it up with the pump grommet...
The previous owner likely sold the outfit because there were issues with it.
but..folks also upgrade their rigs
they get old
they die
they divorce
want to please the new wife !
Certain it is a TN26..... ?? .my understanding is that magnetos with those coils started with TN27 which I have one in the shed...
(make certain coils line up on the base edge (see picture)
I purchased it years ago BECAUSE it had standard coils like you have there
T(X) experts will chime in
