Prop for new Quicksilver 3.0 Marine engine with SEI sterndrive

Do you have a history with this boat ? Do you know what previous prop pitch and wot rpm was ? If not id say start with a 19” pitch black max see how it performs. If you focus on watersports may want to consider lower pitch or 4 blade, but 19” would likely be a good all-around pitch

    Mercruiser 3.0 ignition module

neutral is fine, just dont run it very long at that rpm if on muffs/hose Helpful to know what you actually did vs what you posted in first post. If u are sure you are applying 12 v to set it in base mode module can be the only issue. If it is still advancing ok set total advance and if it works...

Another 140 Delco EST conversion thread

29 degrees total minus the 6 degrees initial means the distributor advance is 23 degrees when all in . at specified rpm level- it doesn’t come in all at once

Mercruiser 3.0 = Chevy 181 CID = Small Block Chevy Valve Train? 1:65 Rockers?

https://marinepowerusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/30lspecs.pdf last page has dyno sheet from GM Read what Chris wrote about gear ratio and props. boat is different than a car because there is no transmission... so if gearing and prop pitch isnt low enough engine will never get into the...

Didn't look like you were doing...

    Ford 302 spark plugs

I dont think that would hurt at this point maybe a valve stuck down or dropped. I would just keep the supplier in the loop to and take pictures or video yourself doing it. When I did my repower I took a video of priming the engine and test running with oil pressure and temp gauges hooked up...

    Ford 302 spark plugs

you wont notice the water that's not supposed to be in the exhaust from the water that is supposed to be in the exhaust (cooling water exit to overboard goes in exhaust )

    manifold bolts

I've done it on old cars, grind head off, heat and pipe wrench on the remnants of the bolts. Ricks comment of stud remover is definitely better .. Be patient with the heat especially if you are using a small propane or mapp torch. If you break it of clean with the head you will end up yanking...

    Ford 302 spark plugs

So its no longer locked up now? be careful not to snap the bolt of the crank ... There is always water in the exhaust in a marine application. If you get enough water into a cylinder since water doesn't compress it can lock an engine up even bending rods. I think it is more typically seen after...

Bought a new long block and wondering about the coupling and gimbal bearing.

Yes choke likely needs to be adjusted leaner. You really dont need much choke when its warm out

Bought a new long block and wondering about the coupling and gimbal bearing.

Agreed 4700 to 5000 maybe a tad over is fine. Have you verified tach against a shop tach? dont think you can go lower in pitch not a lot available below 15” . Now if you wanted to go to stainless with more bite and cup than the black max you have on there i would definitely drop down.

    3.7 to 4.3 swap

If boat was offered with a V8 i would bet those stringers are for v engine mounts. Here is a 5.7 install drawing measure it up iff the gimbal bearing as crankshaft center line...

    Mercruiser 4.3 knocking noise

yes chevy has only two starter configurations based off flywheel size straight and staggered bolt pattern. Don't recall which takes which but depends on if you have the small 12.75 ish "or newer 14" flywheel.

    Mercruiser 4.3 knocking noise

Yeah since you are pulling it anyways would check the starter. or pull the starter and see if it looks nicked up... but it is almost easier to pull the engine to get the starter out... https://www.michiganmotorz.com/4-3l-flywheel-1987-later-engines-14-diameter this lists the flywheel as the...
