1988 Mercury 2 stroke 15HP outboard fueling issue

Reeds rarely fail. If a reed was bad, you would have fuel all over the inside cowl, or if it has one, the Air Silencer. I suspect the carb still has plugged passages. Also is the Possibility of the Carb and Spark Advance being of of whack. When you reinstalled the carb, did you did you do what...

    Carburetor Issues, Dripping Carbs...

Foam Floats have been used for Decades in Cars/Trucks, and I have never seen one with a flexing fulcrum like the one you showed. I would raise hell with Sierra, as their supplier is apparently slapping parts together with no regard to Quality Control

    Crappy hose

'Crappy Grey Hose'. That certainly was a valid comment about a 3rd Party Brand, 30+ yrs ago. These Days, even Mercury Brand Hoses are Grey, so it is wrong to claim all Grey Hoses are crap

    Quit on the Water!

I have never seen any info about the G2, whether it uses Hydraulics to move the Clutch Dog, or Electromagnets to move a Linkage. Both the Electric Shift(1962-1970) and the Hydroelectric Shift(1968-1972) used Electromagnetism to actuate their shift Systems, however the actual Shifting was done...

The Electric Shift of the 60s is nowhere anything like what Bombardier used in the the G2 Engines

    Quit on the Water!

On a Magneto the Spark isn't as strong as with the newer breakerless ignitions. If the spark can jump a 1/4", better yet 5/16", it is doing a good job

    1991 20HP Evinrude no acceleration

When the Prop Nut is Properly Torqued, the Prop part of the Hub is in contact with the Thrust Washer, so when the Rubber Hub slips, there is going to be friction and in this case a fair bit of wear. The Thrust washer is usually Bronze/Brass or Stainless Steel, all harder than the Aluminium
