With no Brakes it really isn't too much work to replace, barring rusted bolts. Having the boat on it doesn't help but it really isn't too hard. I think the place where you currently have it, think they have you by the Short & Curlies and are gouging. Insurance Adjusters aren't stupid, and they...

you probably need about a 2800lb trailer, and yeah you are unlikely to find a new one for a G-note. Take a good look at the Spindle, you might get away with new Bearings and Hub. But there a possibility that Spindle is now not straight with regard to the Axle. What make is the trailer? Does it...

Depends on the Axle, also who sells/supply's it, and who installs it. I know Harbour Freight sells a bunch of Axles, but whether or not they are usable for a Boat Trailer, I have no idea. As to not filing a Claim, cause they won't insure the new one.... So you just keep on paying but never...

Are you a AAA member? If so, see what they will charge to take it somewhere you think won't gouge you as much.

    1985 50HP 4-cylinder power loss

    Mercury 35 hp outboard timing

That is an combination Vent/Air Bleed. If it is missing it will affect Part Throttle Mixture. You can leave it out, just unhook that hose just to the right of your circle, from the fuel bowl cover and plug it with a small ball. Do not unhook the other end of the hose.

A few hours in Salt Water and it will be Closed forever. Even Fresh Water should gum it up as well

    Single axle or dbl

If you have to move the loaded trailer by Hand, then the Single is the way to go. On the other hand twin axles allow for the use of smaller tires, allowing the Trailer, and the boat to be lower, making it easier to launch/load. But 2 axles means twice as much maintenance, and twice as many tires...

Trailer winch question and tilt question? 1st timer.

Ideally the Winch Strap where it comes off of the Spool, should be Level with the Bow Eye Mine isn't perfect, but it is better than the Initial Rigging

    What is this hose?

Even changes in Elevation, as in going up and down hills will result in Inaccurate Speed Readings. Simple Geometry will show why that will occur.
