    It is supposed to lock the recoil starter when motor is in gear.----Only allows you to pull recoil with motor in neutral.

    Does this motor run ?----2 sets of magnets inside the flywheel ?----It is the 6 HP marketed overseas.--The extra coils are there to run boat lights.---Have never seen a 1975 with that ignition here.-----These are wonderful smooth running fishing motors.

    Simple in my opinion.-----The top cylinder on the crankshaft is always #1------Carburetors on starboard side feed cylinders on port side.

    Not sure what is in your tool box.----I use very , very fine lapping compound in the bushing and run needle in and out.----Cleans up the thread and gets rid of burrs / imperfections.----Works all the time !!

    Repeat.---The bushing must spin freely on the needle!----It is the packing that holds it tight in the carburetor.

    Yes , many times.----Make sure the needle moves easily in the bushing.-----Then the packing washers will keep it from spinning inside the carburetor.

    Put 6-1/2 drops of straight gas in the plug holes.-----Put plugs in.----Crank motor over.----Report what happens.
